Yesterday a user made several blogs about possible harming a school and alluded at gun violence while referencing other school shootings. I and several others saw the blogs and became increasingly concerned. I know many people post troll blogs on this site but these were blogs about a very serious issue in America, I honestly could not sit by and just take the chance that this was a joke. I reported the person to the authorities promptly. It has been a busy night and I was on the phone with several agencies reiterating what I said. My towns local sheriffs office even showed up at my house, and asked me some questions and I showed them the website and the user in question. It turns out the user did live near the school he made threatening remarks too, and confessed to making those remarks and was apprehended today. Remember that your actions and post on the internet have consequences and that even if you think no one will see them, you can get in trouble. Furthermore, it is never acceptable to joke about school shootings as they are a sad reality in our country, and no one should be making any jokes of that matter. While it was scary dealing with police all night, and even letting them into my house. I feel like I did the right thing, because if I had a child that went to my school I would have wanted someone to warn the authorities as well.
