Today was my first time playing.. I got voted off 15th.. (Stupid dial up) and 4th (awesome ally despite the stupid dial-up). These are totally different games than I am used to, however I think they are a lot of fun... I will definitely come back and play again!
I did float a little bit, mostly because I was not used to how the game was played. I will try harder to focus on meeting people and making alliances that will help me later on. I think I just got lucky to make a good ally in the last game. Next time making allies has to be from skill, rather than from just luck.
