Like, in general it’s a general step down from Dangerous Woman KIND OF? But like, stylistically this is much more secure and strong than Dangerous Woman.
Maybe because it isn’t just general basic pop and that is unappealing to the tengaged public? I’m not gonna shade anyone’s opinions, but I strongly disagree with the consensus against this album.
This was VERY close to Dangerous Woman in my ratings, but DW did end up as #1, probably because I counted pete davidson even though I was unsure whether to do so and it might’ve broughten it down to the B’s (that’s just a thesis I’ll do a calculation without including it after I post this) but really, I loved the style of this album.
It SO reminded me of old school Beyoncé/Aaliyah, like 90s R&B, it just was there for me. Maybe tengaged doesn’t like that style or maybe it was just a shift for Ariana, but I’m happy she’s becoming her own artist rather than what’s expected of her 🙉🙉🙉
Standouts : R.E.M, better off, God is a woman, everytime, no tears left to cry
Weak links : blazed, borderline

i know all of the alternative aesthetes love milking boring songs just to be seen as edgy and creative and finding art in boring shit but rem is just straight up bland boring
considering the fact that ariana has released touch it in the past rem shouldn't even be put in the same category or be called anything near "best ever"
