Bullying and Harassment at School.

May 14, 2013 by JaneIIe
On Sunday night at 5pm, my little cousin of 13 took an overdose of paracetamol. She was acting really irritable on the way home from her friends house. At 10pm, she began vomiting, her parents had no idea she had O.D'd. When my cousin woke up at 7am on Monday, she was vomiting even more, and her mum told her to stay off school, and her mum works in a nursery, so she had to go to work, and told my cousin that she would be back in an hour. My cousin, knowing that she did what she did, was so scared at the prospect of staying in the house alone incase anything happened to her, so she told her Mum.  My cousin was rushed to hospital that day, the doctors said her life would be at risk, because paracetamol is composed of a lot of different chemicals, which basically fuck up your liver. We waited for hours, scared, waiting for information. We got in to see her, and she seemed fine. My cousin had been experiencing a lot of bullying. Most of this surfacing from her boyfriend, saying he had did stuff with her, when in reality he hadn't. My cousin was laughed and joked about, and she couldn't take it. She told a teacher, who did nothing but sweep it under the rug.  So she did this. Mental health teams and police are now involved in this, and so they should be. I am so mad at the little bitches who think this is all a big joke. Thankfully. My cousin is okay. The doctors said that the amount of vomiting she had experienced, probably got rid of most of the paracetamol in her system. She has been on a drip and having many drugs in her body to reverse the excess paracetamol in her body.

Basically what I'm saying is that. Although paracetamol and household medicines seem like they won't do anything, trust me, they will. And having experienced this first hand from a loved one, coming from a girl whose Mum has survived lymphoma, it was very traumatic! Think of the effects this will have on your family, and if you ever feel down, don't be scared and you can talk to me.

Goodnight guys < 3

P.S: These household medicines, are still called drugs for a reason.
