After several years out of high school, I can safely say from experience that college and high school are two vastly different worlds, so you have to deal with the drifting apart from old friends you had in school. Granted, there may be a few you'll be lifelong buddies with, but for the most part, you're not going to talk to a lot of the friends you have made in high school, and you might make new friends in college that would replace the ones you had in high school.
So for the most part, the friends you have in high school won't be the same ones you have in college. Maybe I might prove myself wrong when a high school reunion comes along, but who knows? For now, I have to say the Top Blog makes a very solid case.
