53 Days, 14 People, 1 Great Game Oct 21, 2008
imageHello, tengaged.  For the past month and a half fourteen of us here on the site have been playing a forum based version of Big Brother hosted by Anthony (antmanthony) called Big Brother Challenge.  The site is here: http://bigbrotherchallenge.proboards102.com/index.cgi  It was flawed yes, it was sometimes stressful, but most of all, it was ultimately fun.  The twists and turns were plentiful as was the drama.  I just want to go through and give my final words to my favorite peoples.

James (Vindication) - You probably would've went farther had you not decided to leave the game.  It was a shame you did so, but in an odd turn of events, the game suddenly picked up and almost everyone in it played harder.

CJ (tennisallstar94) - I did you wrong.  You were a bit paranoid, but you had good reasons for being so.  I should've kept the original three (sorry, Cait) and if I could, I'd go back and do so.  You're better than other people made you out to be and you didn't deserve to leave when you did.

Josh (josh333999) - You were a great ally but because of you nominating me in the end I saw you weren't on the same page with me.  My original plan still involved evicting MJ because I had no connection with her, but I would've forfeited the final HoH and left you and Melissa to duke it out.  As you two were my favorite players, I didn't want to pick between you.  Once you made your decision though, I knew what I had to do.

Melissa (MCRvampire56) - *hugs*  From the beginning I liked you.  Your personality was never OmG, LET'S EVICT BLAH, BLAH or I HATE YOU F**KERS!, which made you stick out among everyone else to me.  You were like a little light shining through the fog that enveloped the game.  I couldn't be happier that you won.  Spread the lurv!

The thing that struck me as odd was I told people numerous times throughout the game I didn't care about winning and I was only playing to have fun, but yet it took ten weeks for me to be nominated.  Wouldn't you consider that sort of a wildcard and someone you'd want to evict?  My only purpose in this game was to help and serve as vehicle for the people I liked to go further.  I did that, and in doing so, got the person I liked the most to win.  CJ, James, Melissa, & Josh you guys are all amazingly awesome.  Congratulations to Melissa once again, and thank you to everyone including our host Anthony for making Big Brother Challenge such a great game.

Wouldn't it be interesting... Sep 30, 2008
if you could create your game?  There are numerous blogs on here proposing there should be a game with this many players, that many days, this twist and so.  So wouldn't it be fun if you could just create your own game with certain preferences and such?  Just imagine choosing from a range of options to make each and every game unique!  Of course all of these stats and whatnot would need to be viewable beforehand so that you may decide to join whichever game that most fits your liking.  Just a thought.

A Public Apology Sep 24, 2008
imageLast night was the finale of Game #7188 which resulted in another victory for WA.  For me this game wasn't really fun as it was stressful.  It all started well enough I guess.  WA was one member short, but there were no worries.  The only person to be inactive, Bob (FedBob), was decided to be our first target.  Then Amy (StarringAmy) who has just won two games in a row prior entered as the tenth player and so the game officially began.  We ended up switching to her as the first target, and so we silently negged her.  All the while she treated us as nicely as can be.  As the final hours approached before the first eviction Rich and I decided we should just keep Amy and have her join in WA and strengthen the alliance back the a healthy total of five.  So for we ended up halting on the negging of her messages.  I didn't even think the little negging we did would even make a difference considering Bob, HouZeR (HouZeR88), and Happy (happygoluckybro) weren't really all that active.  Then the nominations came...

Amy was among them surprisingly.  I was astonished.  So Rich and I talked.  Neither of us really wanted to evict her.  We'd grown to really like her, but if you notice the order of leaving for our game she came in tenth.  I blame myself.  I worried too much of her being a threat later on, and the possibility of this being our only chance.  I ended up (in my opinion) coaxing Rich to vote her out, and of course Elliott and Sarah (iamthekey) followed along.  This shouldn't have happened.  Amy should've never been evicted, and it's my fault.  The following days I had pretty much lost interest in the game.  It wasn't until I realized there was no reason to whine about what happened because I did it that I got back into the swing of things.  I still regret it and if I end up playing another game with her, I would not blame Amy if she were to return the favor and have me evicted.

After that first eviction the process was just too easy.  First went HouZeR, then Happy, followed by Donnie (Butters07), & finally Bob.  We ended up keeping Loopy (loopy8899) because he told Rich on day one he wanted to take him to the end.  He was never rude or anything so he was the best choice out of the remaining players after Amy's eviction.  He would even sneak online in his classes just to talk to us during the day.  He seemed to turn a little sour yesterday though once I started saying how if Bob had been eliminated first Amy would've been the one in the final five with us.  It's not like we hate him or anything of the sort, it's just a fact.  Evicting Amy was a last minute decision and if we hadn't have done what we did Loopy would've no doubt taken sixth place.

Alas though, even when you're pretty much blatantly open about your alliance people seem to act surprised when the truth emerges in the form of pixelated words.  Never once did we lie to Loopy.  Never once did we make any promises.  We chose him, and that was it.  Hell, if we were that devious, wouldn't we have taken Bob the to the finale only to ensure our spots ranged from first to fourth?  Our original plan was for all of us to neg him, but if you look, we didn't.  What's done is done.  He can attempt to slander us, but he knows he's only lying when he does so.

The main thing I want to get across is that Amy, you were wronged, and I as well as the other members of WA are truly sorry.  Yeah, that doesn't change anything, I know.  It still stands though.  Lastly, congratulations to Rich on his third straight win and may WA continue to dominate, only without the evicting of those who don't deserve it as in our first game together.  Thanks for reading.

A Final Word Sep 16, 2008
imageThere were unsure times, there were sad times, and there were great times.  Having that said that, it is official: Game #7137 here on tengaged has come to a close.  I thought it would be important for me to go through the list of players and say a little something o each of them via one last blog post relating to this particular game.  So on with it!

Instant - I'm not quite sure what your deal is.  Maybe you thought it was funny to go and spam the game with your pointless jabber.  Or perhaps you were just bored and had nothing better to do?  Either way you got what was coming to you.

Woody - Can't say much about you seeing as you never returned to play with us.  What a shame.

Luke - You're probably a real good guy, but the fact you barely conversed with us and put a sense of worry within us sealed your fate.  As I said before, it wasn't personal, simply procedure.

Nicey - Same as for Woody, didn't get a chance to know you.

Horatio - Oh God.  You took our game by storm during day two with your unique avatar and then completely blew us all away a thousand times more by miraculously returning the following day.  It was truthfully a sad situation when your time in the game had to end.  <3

Rob - You were a fellow WA member who didn't always have a lot to say, but still was a valuable asset to our group.  What a shame you seemed to get up and leave during our final day.

Sarah - I just want to say that if you ever felt I was being mean to you during that final hour I am sorry.  I didn't intend on presenting myself in such a manner and if I came across that way please forgive me.  : )

Elliott - What a chum!  Prior to #7137 I had seen you around tengaged and to me had a really good vibe about you.  When you ended up in this game I immediately wanted to align with you, but didn't proceed so soon because I thought you might perceive it as suspicious.  When the fact about us all writing came to light I was so glad we were able to form WA.

Rich - Congratulations, you did it.  From your wacky bird art to your hilarious antics I wholeheartedly believe you deserved to win.  This game would NOT have been the same without you.

So far on here I've played a game where half of the people were inactive.  Then I played one where me and my friends were screwed over in the end due to someone cheating.  Last week I began this game and I have to say this was the best round yet.  I wish the best of luck to everyone in your future games.  Long live WA!

Bidding Adieu Sep 15, 2008
imageLights!  Camera!  Action!!!  Ladies and gentleman this IS the finale of Game #7137.  Just one week ago ten people entered this game and now only five remain.  All of which are in an agreement known as the WA (Writer's Alliance) which includes: myself, Sarah (iamthekey), Rich (Richpaca), Rob (19erty4), & Elliott.  On day one it was revealed that each of us currently enjoy or do some form of writing.  It was I who then decided to approach each individual previously mentioned about aligning together and like magic, it happened.  There we were, all five of us together as one.  Amazingly enough we were able to pull through and make it here tonight.  None of us ever fought, the idea of keeping inactives out of hope of going farther in the game never ultimately corrupted us, and never did we try to break apart and cheat the other members of our group.  I recently took a break after winning and watched various other games here on tengaged.  I don't think I've seen an alliance stay so true throughout and end up remaining present, especially with so many involved.

However, there was another person in this game who ended up gaining much love who wasn't in the WA.  If you've been reading my nightly blogs up to this point you already know who they are.  Oh, Horatio, (Blue) how you mesmerized us.  As if infected with some virus that causes curly hair and retro sunglasses to form on your face we all dressed similar to him each with our own personal color of choice.  Tonight though his stay in the game came to a gloomy end.  It isn't without remorse we say goodbye.  He shan't be forgotten though as we all still sport the hair and shades in his honor.  If only there were six spots in this finale.  For my farewell to this grand player I have prepared this very special special piece simply entitled, "An Ode to Horatio."

Delicate azul hair flowing so calm,
Mimicking the vast and hearty ocean.
For your face the sun's beams reach this dawn,
That genuine zest nothing could dampen.
Not today, not tomorrow, always on,
Others you will also amaze and woe.
Traveling the limitless bounds of space,
Leaving behind your radioactive trace.
Such a dreadful shame from us must you go.

The Inevitable Approaches Sep 14, 2008
imageHello again tengaged players.  As you all know I am Paxton and as usual this is the place to get your daily scoop on the happenings in Game #7137.  Yesterday came to close with a bit of uncertainty present in the air.  The daunting decision of whether to evict the silent Nicey, or possible threat Horatio left the voting members of WA a little worried.  It's obvious the moral thing to do would be evict the person who hasn't been present since day one.  However seeing as this is a game of strategy the idea of evicting the lovable Horatio who might become a threat later did cross some of our minds.  So much in fact I originally intended to vote out the poor granny.  After consulting Sarah on what she had decided to do it was clear I couldn't just go against the WA.  The choice had been made for me: get rid of Nicey and deal with Horatio later on.  So I did.

Here were are just a little while after tonights eviction and if you'll notice Nicey is gone.  After initially voting yesterday I was little distraught over the fact we might have just made a mistake.  I sit here now and realize that I couldn't be happier of the outcome.  Not only was voting out Nicey the right decision, but someone we adore as much as our Horatio deserves one more day in the game.  Tonight Rob, Elliott and you guessed it... Horatio are up for the final eviction.  As hard it may be, Sarah, Rich and I each know what must happen.  It's true what they say, all good things must come to end and tomorrow that wonderful granny will sadly be taking sixth place.
