I'm about to go inside when I hear a rustling in the branches. I look up and there's this squirrel just trolling around. my dog goes batshit.
so I'm like lol and decide to watch the event unfold from a safe distance when all of a sudden this thing comes flying out of the tree and onto the ground.
I'm like wtf is this squirrel suiciding or what
Turns out the squirrel found a robin's nest in the tree and threw one of the babies out to distract my dog while it ran off into another tree
His parents were flying around him! I also made sure my dog wasn't around it. She didn't show much interest in it anyhow. The nest was way too high for me to put him back and nursing him myself would have definitely resulted in his death :( So I'm hoping his parents will keep taking care of him.
