Life working at a movie theatre

imageNever having to wake up early for work and never having to pay to go see the latest thriller: two things that I have found to be essential in my life. Well... apart from my new blackberry.

Working at a movie theatre has its plusses and minuses: I've never had to pay for a movie ever since I started working there and I get to see the latest movies before they are released in the box office. Unfortunately, I've had to work till 1 am MULTIPLE times, I've had shifts cancelled and shortened with very little notice and I have a permanent butter stench in my clothes.

I guess working at the movies can teach you some pretty obscure life lessons. I've learnt to never to stand too close to a fryer, how to deal with a herd of screaming children, and, of course, how to get butter stains out of my clothes.

Everyone assumes that my job must be easy: I get paid to watch movies. WRONG! I get paid to do slave work for hours at a time; sometimes involving cleaning up barf and kicking arcade machines until they start working again.

Don't get me wrong, I love my job but sometimes... I wonder how I'm still alive.

Let me know what you think! Would you want to work at a movie theatre? How was your experience working at the movies?

Ciao!
