Real Story:
My stepmother (the woman my real dad married) called today and told me my real father had passed away last night. They're not sure how he died, only that he died in his sleep and had been complaining about being dizzy and about his gut. He was found slightly out of bed and blue this morning.
Of course I didn't know the man very well, but it still hit me pretty hard. I think I spent 4 hours in Wal*Mart, just window shopping to get my mind off of it.
I'll always think about it, and perhaps I'll cry a few more times along the way. But... I won't give up on life. He wouldn't want that.
I'll just have to live for the two of us now, instead of just myself.
