Is this true about Europeans?

Sep 17, 2014 by Danger
I became friends w. 2 swedish people today, and they mentioned how Americans always greet you and they're all really friendly but in Europe if you say hello to someone random they'll probably just ignore you. Is this true?

If it's from some stranger then I'd ignore no one does that

tommarkoliver In America it's a custom to say hello/how are you to every one you met, whether you know them or hot.

What just randomly down the street?!? Danger
Some people in my town are a little dodgy so no way I'd do that

Not true here in the UK, here we have a stereotype that Americans would be rude/ignore you in the street and that Brits are nice and polite.

Tommarkoliver I mean if it was a random person in the streets it still wouldn't be unusual. I always wave at people when I'm driving and they're out watering their yards, whether I know them or not. They wave back too lol

simplyobsessed Americans are far from rude. We're egocentric but far from rude
