Is that the lower "colour level" you are. The more likely you are to be ignored :)
I have yet to see a low level get mass plussed. But if a high level post something just as interesting people jump to plus it.
It's not the same for every occasion but people seem to like to praise the blogs of those high in society and ignore those lower down in the pecking order.
