Fraternities & Sororities at Ellingston University

FRATERNITIES
- Alpha Sigma Phi (Navy and Silver): With a beautiful estate on Campus, pledge classes full of future statesmen, business leaders, entrepreneurs, and athletes, Lambda Omega Phi is perhaps the classical bastion of fraternity membership. The legacy of this fraternity has remained consistent, with no wane of power or influence; freshmen boys have typically pined to become a member of Lambda Phi’s newest pledge class. Rush is intense, and pledge season is even more brutal, but of course, just a hair away from breaking the hazing policy. Sigma Phi guys are popular, high achievers, and incredibly competitive. The culture within tends to draw upon the insecurities of the young men, which has typically yielded much self-improvement, but it seems that the culture grows more toxic with each passing year, but that’s just the price of being the top fraternity house.
-Alpha Theta Delta (Purple and Gold): Better known as ATD, Alpha Theta Delta, are enjoying a particularly great ride in the world of Greek life. The renovation and expansion of their chapter house has turned a rinky house into a fratty McMansion, which has become Ellingston’s favorite off-grounds party location. Comprised of very gregarious young men with a wild streak, ATD has made themselves known as a fraternity of pretty party boys. The fraternity also notoriously has a boat which may or may not have been inappropriately funded by the alumni looking to get more tout amongst other fraternities. The university administration has not been amused by this fraternity’s rise on the Lawn, and are concerned that the next great fraternity scandal that could potentially embarrass the school may come out of this house. Until then, party on.
SORORITIES
-Kappa Alpha Theta (Pink and White): While the UCLA chapter is regarded by the sorority national headquarters as the best chapter in the nation, Kappa Alpha Pheta here at Ellingston is a runner-up, being one of the best sororities on the Campus. Girls who wear these letters are known to be fun-loving, energetic, and excellent leaders. With a rather darling persona, a beautifully-remodeled house, and high involvement on grounds, Alpha Theta rivals other top sororities for “top house.” Typical Southern sorority-types are both welcomed and challenged here. Recent recruiting classes have been pushing for more diversity to cast off its old image as the sorority for legacies and blondes. However, its generous alumni base keeps the pressure on the sorority to “maintain a status quo.”
-Sigma Omega Delta (Mint Green and Blue): known better as Sigmas, prides itself as being a sorority for non-sorority girls. An odd description, but it is apt for the group overall. Sigmas pride in individuality and community, and as a result, are the most active on the Campus in terms of community service and achievement. A typical Sigma is an achiever of some sort, not too fussy, and aware that friendship is a good thing to have. Typically these girls do not play all that well with the rest of the Greek life community at Ellingston and have a rather unflattering reputation of not having “fun” events or parties, but on the other hand, very well-received by the rest of the student body.
