Bid Poker
Objective: Bid on Lots of cards to create the best poker hand!
SETUP
1. Each player receives 150 coins for bidding. Only coins are used for bidding
2. This game will use a standard 52 card deck (no jokers), and poker hand rankings.
3. At the start of the game, there will be 10 predetermined lots of cards, each having 5 or 6 cards (Referred to as 'Catalogue').
4. There will be a 24 hour consideration period before the first round. The dealer will reveal all lots (The Catalogue) at this time.
CATALOGUE PHASE
1. The Catalogue Phase is divided into 10 rounds, one for each Lot. During Round 1, players will bid on Lot #1. Round 2, players bid on Lot #2, and so on. Each Round lasts 24 hours.
2. The player who bids the highest amount of coins during a round receives all cards in that Lot. If there is a tie, then the player who submitted their bid first will win.
3. The LGT will reveal all bids. The player who bid the most coins will pay the LGT that many coins and receive all cards in the lot.
a. If there are no bidders for a lot, the lot is discarded.
CHANGE PHASE
1. The Change Phase is divided into 3 rounds. Each round is divided into 'Discard' and 'Bidding'.
2. During the 'Discard' phase, players may decide which cards they want to sell in the next bidding phase.
a. All discarded cards from a player make up a single lot during the Bidding Phase.
3. In the bidding phases, all discarded lots are bid on simultaneously.
a. The highest bidder pays the amount bid to the seller of the lot. All bids are revealed. If the winning bid ties, the player who sends the bid first will win.
b. Players may bid on multiple lots (including their own). The total amount bid may not exceed coins in hand. Lots without a bid will return to the player who discarded them.
4. If no cards are discarded during a 'Discard' phase, the next bidding phase is skipped as there are no cards to bid on.
ENDGAME
1. Once the 3rd Bidding phase has concluded, the dealer will rank hands. The dealer will automatically pick the best 5 cards to determine your hand.
a. There must be at least 5 cards to form a hand and get ranked. If a player does not have 5 cards, that player is a ‘pig’ and remains unranked. Pigs pay 100m to first place.
2. The top 4 players win and advance to the next round. If more than 4 players rank top 4, those in the worst qualifying rank are all eliminated. If fewer than 4 players rank top 4, more will be eliminated.
3. First place collects 100m from last place, and second place collects 50m yen from second-to-last.
a. If there is a tie, they will split the collected winnings. If first place is a tie, the next rank wins nothing.
4. Players convert each coin to 1m yen apiece and pay 100m yen to the LGT.
INACTIVITY
1. Every round missed in the Catalogue and every phase missed in the Change segment earns the player one strike.
2. 4 Strikes will eliminate the player. The LGT will confiscate their coins and cards, and remove that player from the game.
