Every player has a rival this season. And we will be taking that to a whole new level!

The Callanish Standing Stones have become the site of an arena, The Arena of Rivalry. When a player is voted out, they will enter battle with their rival in a "Sword Battle" at Rivalry Arena.

The way a sword battle works is as follows: Beginning with the "Voted Out" player, rivals alternate between striking their opponent and defending attacks. Based on a first to 5 scoring system, a player must choose a section to either strike or defend. They have 3 choices in this matter: Head, Torso or Legs. The first player to successfully strike their rival 5 times wins the battle.

If the player "Voted Out" wins the battle, they will head to Redemption Island to await an opponent. If they lose this battle, however, they will be eliminated without ever going to Redemption Island.

When 2 players arrive on redemption island they will Duel (not a sword battle) with the winner staying and the loser being eliminated for good. Redemption island will operate as normal with survivors re-entering the game at predetermined points in the game.

In rare events that a player is voted out and their Rival is already eliminated from the game, they will automatically head to Redemption Island and Duel to stay alive.

For example: Jack and Jill are rivals. Jill is voted out 1st, and now both Jack(Still on his tribe) and Jill will compete in a "Sword Battle". If Jill wins, she heads to Redemption. If Jack wins, Jill is eliminated from the game.

Now, say Jill has won the Sword Battle at Rivalry Arena and is now alone on redemption island. The next tribal comes along and Jack (Jill's rival) is voted out. As Jill is technically still in the game she will first battle Jack at Rivalry arena. If she wins Jack is sent packing. If however Jacks wins the sword battle then he will head to redemption island and will face Jill once more in a redemption duel with the loser of this being sent home.
