Here's how TRL Season One will work.
Each race, the teams that have signed up will compete in a race simulated by the computer in the game NASCAR Racing 2003 Season. All cars/drivers will be initially rated based on their color level. I will post recaps and video highlights of each race. Each race should last about 1-2 hours.
Participating players are TEAM OWNERS.
They will not actually race in the game, but their actions as owners can influence the outcome of the series championship.
Here’s how it will go down:
At the start of the season, we will have a DRIVER DRAFT.
Each team owner will pick ANYONE on Tengaged. The values of the players are determined by their color level.
After all the owners have made their first picks, the 2nd round will begin, and so on.
Teams are limited to 4 drivers max, and yes, there is a Salary Cap.
Each team MUST PICK AT LEAST 2 DRIVERS.
For Season One, teams will have a Salary Cap of $20 million.
White = $0
Yellow = $100,000
Orange = $250,000
Light Green = $500,000
Green = $750,000
Blue = $1 million
Purple = $2 million
Red = $2.5 million
Brown = $3 million
Black = $4 million
Silver = $5 million
Gold = $6 million
Sky = $7.5 million
Blood = $10 million
TV Star = $12.5 million
So if you hire a TV Star as a driver, your 2nd, 3rd, and 4th choices are limited.
Salary Caps will increase/decrease at the Mid-Season point and at the end of the Season.
The season will consist of races and checkpoints. At the end of every 4th race is CHECKPOINT. At that time, THE LOWEST RANKED TEAM OVERALL WILL BE ELIMINATED, and the next owner in line will enter the game. If no one is in line to join, there won’t be an elimination.
CHECKPOINT GAME
At the checkpoint, a team owner has the following options:
HIRE
STAY – Team stays the same
FIRE
HIRE – A team may choose to higher another driver if 1) they have room and 2) have the bank to do so.
FIRE – A team may choose to fire a driver based on his/her performance or salary. Once they are fired, the salary for that person goes back in the team’s bank.
When a team fires a driver, they may higher another driver at that time, or wait until the next checkpoint. The fired driver will then become available to other teams, and can be hired at a 25% discount of their starting salary.
Note: If a player on tengaged gets a higher color level during our season, their color level at the beginning of the season (or when brought in) will still be used.
DRIVER RATINGS
Each driver will have a starting rating based on their color level. These are used in-game and the higher the rating the better the chance of winning.
Each driver will start with a minimum rating of 40, however the maximum rating depends on the color level:
White = 45
Yellow = 46
Orange = 47
Light Green = 48
Green = 49
Blue = 50
Purple = 51
Red = 52
Brown = 53
Black = 55
Silver = 56
Gold = 57
Sky = 58
Blood = 59
TV Star = 60
In a nutshell, a white level driver would have a 40-45 rating while a TV Star driver would have a 40-60. The white level driver could still beat the TV Star driver, but wouldn’t be as consistent.
THESE MAXIMUM RATINGS ONLY APPLY TO DRIVERS AT THE START OF THE SEASON AND NOT HIRED DRIVERS.
Ratings will change at the end of each race:
(these are for all stats):
WIN THE RACE FROM POLE AND LEAD MOST LAPS = MIN increases by 5 and MAX increases by 5.
WIN THE RACE FROM POLE = Min +3 / Max +3
WIN THE RACE AND LEAD MOST LAPS = Min +3 / Max +3
WIN THE RACE = Min +2 / Max +2
FINISH 2ND-5TH= Min +1 / Max +1
FINISH 6th-10th = Max +1
FINISH 11th-20th = Min +1
FINISH 30TH-35th = Min -1 / Max -1
FINISH 36th or worse = Min -2 / Max -2
DO NOT FINISH THE RACE (all positions) = Min -3 / Max -3
Also, bonuses to certain stats are given:
WIN THE POLE = Min +2 / Max +2 to Qualifying stat
START IN THE TOP 10 = Min +1 / Max +1 to Qualifying stat
START OUTSIDE TOP 35 = Max -1 to Qualifying stat
