As one of the biggest Beyoncé stans on the site, I have to give my opinions on Black Is King. XD I just have to say, this film is absolutely beautiful!!! The messages in it are valuable, the African culture representation is amazing, I LOVE the Lion King references, the story of the couple and baby was great, and this is probably the most visual pleasing thing I have ever seen. Like the scenes, costumes, nature, etc are soo great to look at. The only major problem was I wish we had a Black Parade music video. I was really looking forward to seeing one. I hope she can make one soon. Beyoncé has done it AGAIN!!! I’m currently rewatching the whole thing again.
Rankings (This was hard cuz I loved it all):
1. Otherside - This was just a beautiful story; I had to rewatch the whole thing again after I saw it. The part where she sends the baby away had me tearing up some.
2. Brown Skin Girl - This whole song made me smile. All the women coming together and it was just sooo pretty. I LOVED the part when Bey and Kelly were showing their sisterly love and Blue Ivy singing.
3. Mood 4 Eva - This whole song was just really fun to watch. I loved the modern royalty and African mix and the chess parts. Only thing I wish we had was Childish Gambino actually there instead of the pic of him.
4. Power - Ok this song was also really fun to watch. I absolutely love Blue Ivy being in this and the visuals were just really cool. I loved all the colors in it.
5. Already - I loved the party vibes and dances this song gave. I also loved all the different outfits that Beyoncé wore. She served those looks!!!
6. Find Your Way Back - Ok these were my favorite outfits in the whole film hands down. She shined and the space theme was really cool!!!
7. Spirit - I LOVE the Kobe Bryant tribute and how she did this acapella. It was sooo original and just absolutely amazing.
8. Bigger - This was really cute with the baby in it, and I love that she put a different mix to it instead of just having the original music video playing over it. The only reason this is lower is cuz Otherside took the cake on the baby scene.
9. Water - I loved the constant outfit changes here which was really cool. That hot pink dress was sooo pretty, and I loved Darkyoncé making her appearance on the stream with that pretty outfit. XD The only issue I had though was Pharell’s part being on a desert with a blue background when it’s a water song. XD
10. Nile - I loved all the flowers and the clip of the Nile River, however this video kinda confused me lmao. I also wish Kendrick Lamar had a part here.
11. Don’t Jealous Me - I loved the story with this one. I also really liked how these non Bey songs still had her in them. I also loved the Scar vibes this one gave.
12. Ja Ara E - I really liked the neon limo in this part with Bey singing the Ja Ara part. I also loved the end when the shaggy monster came up and the driver turned into this villain.
13. Keys to the Kingdom - Ok this is one of the songs I wasn’t very familiar with, but after listening to it I really liked it along with the dances in it.
14. SCAR - I didn’t even know the name of this song until going back and listening to it. The girl rapped is sooo well, but idk it was kinda forgettable to me.
