The Walking Dead: Sealed Episode 10- Dem Zombies Be Slaying
The man turns and yells at his buddy, “Chad we have got to stop doing this!”
Out of nowhere I hear Ingrid and Woodrow laughing in the back of the line in harmony, those two. I still need to figure out what’s up with their connection to each other.
Klaus climbs out of the cave in front of me and his jaw drops, as fast as I can I get up there with most of the other members of the group, all with the same reaction… oh shit.
They are everywhere, I can see a parking-lot that is safe, but that’s a suicide mission because of the thousands of college students screaming and shouting at us.
I search through the eyes of our group. “What do we do?” I ask Biscuit and Chad.
“We have to get off this thing,” I completely realize that we are standing on a platform, if not for that, we would all be dead when we opened the hatch.
“We have to move, I can hear then behind us.” Maya says. “We have to get a move on it.”
“What’s your brilliant idea missy?” Chad asks.
“Simple, a diversion.” Maya says.
I hear a scream behind us and fly around.
Kyle was too close to the edge and was grabbed in, I can see Patrick trying to pull him back on, but those former college students are too good.
“Let go, it’s no use.” Dakota says.
Kyle hears this and gives us the most confused face ever. Then it goes into commando mode. He makes Patrick let go of him and he goes flying into the mix of them. He’s final word was “Run!”
“Where do we go?” Burk says.
“The bus.” I say. “That bus right there.” I say, pointing out to the sea of people, now!”
All I think about is that another person just sacrificed, well more or less, themselves for us to live. Why do people think that we are something to die for?
We all make a break for it, of course we lost previous time arguing on where to go. I stumble and fall but eventually I make it to the bus. The doors won’t open so I break the glass and jump inside with everyone following me.
Once inside we all look at the new peoples. Chad and Biscuit, those poor souls.
“Um… Who are you people and why should we trust you?” Austin asks.
That stupid kid! That’s not what you say to them! Oh my gosh! That’s completely rude.
“I’m Biscuit Jenkins, I’m twenty five and was practicing in this college for the athletics program for gymnastics,” He smiles at me. “Whenever I was practicing by myself, Chad comes in out of nowhere and gets me. He is like a groundskeeper or something.”
“I am one of the college’s adventure field trip people.” He says. “Pretty much I take kids on trips to other countries or to long education hiking trips. I’m barely ever here. That’s where me and Biscuit met on a trip to Mexico. We became friends and I came to a few matches.”
“I come back to the college to practice after my high school place closed.” Biscuit says.
“Don’t worry about introductions!” Maxine says. “We need to get out of this place!”
“Check the engine.” Dr. Green says. “This should be filled with gas, it was going to a safe zone.” He says. “I was going to join them, I was walking out of my classroom when I saw it get taken over.”
Bryce jumps in the driver seat and checks it, over and over… “It won’t start. We are trapped on this bus, I don’t know what to do.”
“Alright, I know what to do.” Chad says. “Take apart the seats and use the cushions as shields, as long as you do it right, it will work.”
As we prepare for our run, I pair up with Klaus, making sure that he understands that we have to stick together.
“We should head to the Cafeteria, there might be food still there.” Patrick says.
“But be ready for anything.” Burk says.
“Who wants to go first?” Maya asks.
“We’ll go first,” Chad says as him and Biscuit take a step forward.
“Alright… Let’s go!” I shout as we open the doors.
We rush and push without looking, shouts and screams are heard, but I don’t see anyone disappear.
When we make it to the outside of the building, a gunshot goes off somewhere else on the Campus and it draws a few of them away.
Behind Klaus and I is Woodrow and Ingrid. I figured that if they make a whole together, then they would be perfect to work together for this.
When we make it to the side of the Cafeteria, I look back to see Ingrid trip and fall with Woodrow stopping and picking her up. Thinking they are fine I rush inside following Klaus.
Thirty seconds later, Ingrid comes inside. “Woodrow is dead. What’s next?”
I freeze, she sounds… normal…
“Ingrid, are you ok?” Maxine asks. “You sound different.”
“My mind is cleared.” She says. “Woodrow and I were sharing ideas and thoughts, I don’t remember but we were connected somehow. Since he’s dead… I guess I am truly free for once. No longer do I hear his voice in my head… because he’s dead.”
I couldn’t believe this… Woodrow’s dead, and it’s made Ingrid sane. I don’t have time to think about it when I hear a child’s scream.
Austin is covered by cafeteria workers, a bite is taken out of his arms, legs, and neck. Too far to save.
“Quick follow me!” Chad says. “With the walkers following the gun shot, we can make it to the dorms!”
“The what’s following the gun shot?” Maxine asks.
“The walkers.” Biscuits says. “Or at least that’s what we call them. What do you call them?”
“I really hadn’t thought of a name to call them…” Dakota says. “I didn’t think it mattered.”
“You idiots!” Ingrid says. “We don’t have time for this! Let’s move!”
Even though we were all still adjusting to her, Ingrid was right, we had to keep moving or we would fall behind and get surrounded. The gun shot was a magical gift.
As we rush out the doors, we see the gifter surrounded. Almost in an instant, Dr. Green rushes to help the young girl trying to get away from those…. Walkers.
I try to stop him, but it was too late for him… and her. He rushed to her, trying to save her by sacrificing herself, but it didn’t matter, she was too far gone to do anything as their rotting teeth sunk into both of them.
I try not to think of them as we rush into the dorms, hoping that we are unspotted…
