The Walking Dead: Sealed- Episode 4 This Is Hell
“You’ve got to be kidding me?” I say with a loud passion. “Burk, where’s Hayley? She was with us when you drugged us! Where is she?”
“No she wasn’t! Hayley wasn’t with you! I never saw her! Patrick, Trina, did you see a girl with blonde hair about fourteen years old?”
Both college students shake their heads.
“Then where is she? She wouldn’t wonder off!” I say.
“Let’s all calm down now, I beg of you. Just because we are underground doesn’t mean that we are safe. There would be more anywhere around us.” A man says. He’s decked out in full on protective gear, he had grey hairs with glasses inside of the suit with a shining title on his shirt, Dr. James Green.’
“Tell me where my sister is!” I demand to him
“Let me explain something first.” He says.
I look around, almost everyone else is here. It seems like everyone is.
“When the break out happened, I was in Dr. Green’s room asking questions about a test. Then, the news comes on about the breakout happening in New York, he immediately put us into this place to keep us safe. We’ve been down here for almost three weeks hiding away. That’s when some lunatic lady broke in and started running round the tunnels. At first we thought that she was one of them, but she isn’t. She can talk, kept saying your name and how you will pay for something.”
“Oh shit,” I say with great break. “It’s Judith.”
Homewrecker’s head almost did a full one eighty when I said her name, I know they have history.
“Judith? Oh I love her cookies. So delightful… can we have some cookies?” She says with a child’s eyes. “I’m sure that everyone would enjoy that. Right George?”
Joyce looks confused. “Sally, who’s George?”
“Oh Joyce, it’s my bitch of a husband don’t you know. It’s the man that slept with a slut. The one that I vow to kill every time that I see his signature that checks me into this place.” Sally says. “George… oh George in pieces, George shall die.”
“Maya, I thought I told you to keep track of them!” I scream. “We can’t have them going off like this! We don’t know what they can get us into!”
“I’m sorry that I can’t control human beings just like us. They are people none the less like us.” Maya replies.
“Wait… so none of you have the disease?” Renee asks.
“None of us have been in the public since the disease reached the United States.” Trina says. “We have been extremely careful. Ever since the girl showed up, we have been wearing these suits none stop. We have to be careful.”
“Hold up!” Jay says. “The disease? What? The disease happens when you’re dead. You have to die from them to get it right?”
“Wrong.” Dr. Green says. “The disease can be spread through the air, every time someone breathes they are getting more particles that contain it. I was in talks with a professor from a German school and he said that when the disease was created in a lab, they put into a human. The person ended up like the people above us now, but they were not wearing protective gear. For they were trying to create a cure for Ebola, apparently, they created something that is must worse. There is no cure because civilization broke so fast. If doctors and patients and a lot of people worked together, then we wouldn’t be having this problem. I am quite disappointed in my fellow scientists.”
“Your telling us that whenever anyone dies they come back as… those things?” Renee says. “So when I die, then I will become one of those?”
“Not exactly.” Kyle replies.
“What? How would you know? You have been with us since it started?” Austin says.
“The day before this started… my mother and father were fighting,” Kyle began to cry. “They were fighting over something small like a payment or something… but my Father had been drinking. He was overdramatic on everything then he grabs her by the neck and chokes her.”
I begin to think, Kyle this fourteen year old had seen his father kill his mother. He had to grow up in an instant. Barely prepared for anything.
“I go ballistic.” Kyle continues. “I grab a knife from the draw and stab him in the head, I don’t know why I went for the head, but I did, he died in my arms. About two minutes after that, Mom started talking again, I was so happy. She started reaching for me face, then I saw her eyes. They were colors I’d never imagined before. I pulled the knife out of my father’s head and down it goes.”
We all sit in dead silence.
“Listen, we have set you guys a place in a semi large area. We just couldn’t have you all around just asking questions.” Patrick says.
“How does this tunnel system work?” Woodrow says with a smile. “I’d love to know.”
“It was built during the Civil War to have harbor slaves to freedom. The problem is… it has many entrances and exits. I’m worried that there are some leading to the outside and they might find a way inside.” Dr. Green says. “Just be prepared. If I blow a horn, then we all need to run east to where I have guns hidden.”
“Can we all have the night to think over what you have said so that we can just sleep? We’ve been up since three in the morning.” Dakota says. “I’m sure that Bryce is tired as well.”
Bryce nods with approval. They are obviously a couple together. But the problem was… I couldn’t tell which one belonged in the Mental Hospital, they both seemed quiet and respectful, but the problem was, they both weren’t crazy like Woodrow or Ingrid.
“Wait!” Trina shouts out. “I would like a blood sample from someone to test. Preferably someone with a relative here without the disease.”
Of course she meant me. I was the reason that we even came to Valence, so I knew it was going to be me.
I got up and walked with her to a quiet place.
“You have to tell me, is there anyone dangerous that we should know about in your group?”
I was confused, “I don’t think so.”
“Why did you get a bunch of mental patients and bring them with you?”
“We were trapped outside there after our bus flipped and we went inside to take refuge, me and Niall kind of just took them with us.”
“What about the crazy lady? What happened with her?”
“She was a person who acted like she was a caretaker of the place, but she lied. She was patient and tried to do what God wanted her to do by helping the earth start over.”
She suddenly sticks me with a syringe and pulls. “Thanks,” She runs off like a kid with a prize.
I walk back to the area, I take a minute in the tunnels trying to look around. This place is amazing. It’s got room for us to talk, but it was kind of stuffy.
When I returned to the sleeping place I noticed Shannon. Why is she being so quiet? She was always talkative in Hollywood, but I decide not to worry about the situation.
I walk over to Niall, “Where do you think Hayley is?”
“I’d say she’s somewhere in the tunnels. If she’s in the classroom she still might be safe because of the doors.” He replies. I look hard at him. He’s sweating, almost panting, his face looks green.
“What’s wrong? Are you sick?” I ask.
“Of course not, I’m fine.” He smiles a fake smile.
I get up and walk over to the sleeping bag they have laid out for me on the ground, I look over at Klaus’ shirtless body. Beautiful. He’s probably in his late twenties and if I had to choose someone to have kids left because of the apocalypse, it would be him for sure. He was standing in his boxers and he was hot. How could someone so hot end up in a mental institution, oh well?
I can hear Maxine and Renee talking about their families and how glad they will be to see them. I chuckle in my head, if they get to see them.
Ingrid kept mumbling about dead people or something. About two hours later, I wish that I had paid more attention to her voice.
