Forgive my self-centered American mindset

imageBut I’m really tired of the way non-Americans comment on American politics here. Most of the time it’s done with a pretentious, “thank God I don’t live THERE” attitude, and it’s just obnoxious more than anything. Most Americans are aware that the political climate of the US is a dumpster fire right now. We don’t need incessant reminders that you agree with us any time something happens in the US that has no effect on you whatsoever.

Yep. It's mainly Canadians I see this from I feel like

I disagree with the last part though about "no effect on you whatsoever". Whether they want to admit it or not, the actions and decisions of the USA greatly impact policies (for better or worse) and the economy of Canada + Euro nations. Like it might not be a direct effect but those countries are affected
