I can see how this fits the themes but it's not my cup of tea. I like the dubstep style in which Skrillex became famous, but then it becomes kind of repetitive with the girl singing the same things over and over and it turns boring. I like how aggressive the beats are, definitely.
boyfriend ─ “Oneohtrix Point Never - I Don't Love Me Anymore”
I did think this was one of the best submissions of the week, although I just don't see it fitting the futuristic theme that much. It's definitely more nostalgic to me, if anything. It's a great song and I'm surprised by your taste being so elevated. It definitely sounds like a mix of Crystal Castles and TR/ST and I'm here for it.

It's the way this song probably has no content at all and I still find it to be incredible. It sounds so much like a Perfume type of beat while Hatsune Miku sings on top of it. It's also, like, far from a conventional and contemporary idea on the theme, which makes it stand out a lot. Like, it's definitely more 2000s futuristic than 2020s futuristic.

Love love love this specifically, perhaps the No Boys Ver. is even better. I remember being obsessed with this when it came out, and still am. Despite Charli being kind of an obvious artist choice for this week's assignment, I think you stepped out of the box a little bit more for delivering a song that has the beats to the futuristic theme, but doesn't necessarily has the lyrical theme to it.
SomebodyAwesome ─ “Grimes - 4AEM”
I absolutely adore this, but it's definitely... Too obvious? Like it's literally a song for a game called Cyberpunk 2077, from which I got the reference for the theme. The hook in this song will always be funny to me for this ongoing joke on Twitter that she's repeating "Bolsonaro, Bolsonaro!" from 1:04 to 1:20. I'd say good job, but also, step out of your comfort zone, since creativity is also a part of the game.
ItsAlexia ─ “Charli XCX - 2099 ft. Troye Sivan”
I don't really like this song, but I see how it fits the theme SO WELL that it's impossible to ignore. Kind of an obvious choice if you ask me, well perhaps not if you think the obvious here would be like Britney Spears - Till The World Ends. Charli isn't THAT mainstream afterall. I like the video more than I like the actual song and I do think this was one of the many letdowns from these days Charli for me.
Lukesaur ─ “Cashmere Cat - Night Night”
I don't see it fitting the theme at all nor do I like it. Definitely not a Cashmere Cat fan at this point, since Galaxies also sent in one of her songs and got a bottom2 for it. It's much more dramatic than I expected for this theme and it's very short - which, in this case, was kind of a blessing. Very bad.
ILoveSleep ─ “Dawn Richard - Nostalgia”
I had to listen to this like, multiple times. At first I didn't really see the potential of it but as I've heard it a few more times, it did grow to me. I love the robot-ish voice, the beats remind me of most things on Fantasea, by Azealia Banks - which is an A+ - and I can definitely see it fitting the theme.
Based on that, I have made my decisions.
This will be cut short and out of mystery cuz im formatting this while i watch outer banks, critiques were ready for like so long and I didn't feel like leave boyfriend hanging for too long else
Since giving me futuristics wasn't your forté, I now ask for jazzy, blues, vintage old classics submissions. DOES THIS MEANS THE SONG HAS TO BE A NANCY SINATRA 1920S LIVE PERFORMANCE? NO.
It just has to give me the feels... of a Lana del Rey's James Bond soundtrack, y'know? A little bit jazzy, a little bit of a slut hooker whore.
