Survivor Maryland Allstars Episode 3 Edgic

May 14, 2018 by Hannah_Parks
Let me start by saying with 9 UTRs/6 MORs/ and only 3 CP Edits, it is getting evidently clear who the forerunners will be this season, the edit is starting to get lopsided and it's just what I expected.

Brandon | 0 Confessionals | UTR1
____________________________
Not much to say about Brandon's edit this week, his premiere edit was already lack luster and his episode 2 didn't do much for his game really either. I can only see Brandon's edit being tethered to Sabrina and Eric's storylines, other than that the editors are making it perfectly clear he's not going to be one of the very important characters this season.

Micah | 0 Confessionals | UTR1
__________________________
Poor Micah has no edit at all, he's clearly shown to be absolutely irrelevant this season and has no ties to any storyline except an alliance with Evan. Micah isn't a contender to win by any means with his Visibility no higher than a two and no CP edits, things aren't looking so hot for Micah.

Nicole | 0 Confessionals | UTR1
__________________________
Nicole quite possibly has the worst edit of them all, with a decent premiere edit you would have thought she would have been a big contender this season as editors usually try to hide winners by giving them MOR3 in the premiere. This is not the case for Nicole however because despite being one of the biggest names to come back Nicole has managed in back to back episodes to not even have a single confessional and next to none in screen time, it's as if the editors add a quick scene of her in it to prevent her from getting an INV rating, If I had to say someone was expendable to the plot story it's Nicole, with her and Michelle on the bottom right now I wouldn't be surprised if she's the last boot before the swap.

Ashley | 0 Confessionals | UTRN2
___________________________
Ashley has quite the saddest edit of them all, and that's saying something coming off of Nicole/Micah and Brandon. Ashley managed to get quite a bit of screen time but never a confessional the entire episode, basically implying that Ashley had nothing to do with the plot and was just there for an Ashley vs Siona esq showdown you could say. Every time she was talking to someone they'd take the confessional time and we'd see into their thought process and thinking, hence Rebecca and Holli. Also, on another note that severely hurts Ashley's game is that she is the only contestant this far to receive a negative tone in all three episodes. Ashley along with many others are just filler characters for the bigger characters overall story plots.

Chris L. | 1 Confessional | UTR2
_________________________
This was a much-needed cooldown episode for Chris L. After two back to back negative undertones on top of a 4 to 5 visibility edit, Chris needed some time to cooldown with his edit and where it was going. While I still think there's a 0 percent chance Chris can win this season, it doesn't take it off the table that he's going to be a force this season, what he needs is some CP edits without any negative undertones to put him in the winner contenders list, overall by his one confessional it looks as if Chris T could be his next target.

Sabrina | 1 Confessional | UTR2
__________________________
Sabrina was deliberately hidden in this episode and only got off from not being UTR1 by having a last-minute confessional about which way her alliance wanted to vote. I wouldn't take Sabrina off the winner contenders list just yet, but she needs to pick back up and get a few CP edits in before the merge, that way we know she's one of the ones to look out for.

Victoria | 1 Confessional | UTR2
__________________________
The thing that saddens me about Victoria's edit goes back to what I had previously said in other evaluations, it is easier to edit a fan favorite than it is someone who really doesn't belong in the cast. With that being said Victoria is the only contestant this season to receive 3 UTRs in a row which is pretty awful considering Victoria was one of the Top 5 biggest personalities to return this season. Having said all of that I wouldn't be surprised if Victoria was a premerge boot simply because of the god-awful edit.

Eric | 2 Confessionals | UTR2
________________________
Eric had a very lackluster edit this episode because once again, his edit is tied into Chris L and Shannon's storyline. Eric is seen this time talking about the possibility of getting rid of Chris T, which is a storyline that is going on for far too long without any blood. With the upcoming next episode, I wouldn't be surprised if Eric bites the dust possibly to an idol play, considering how good Chris T's edit really is. Other than that Eric is to Chris L and Shannon what Micah is to Evan and Shannon, the 3rd invisible wheel.

Evan | 2 Confessionals | UTR2
_________________________
I was ultimately conflicted on whether or not I should give Evan a UTR or MOR edit. I ultimately decided there wasn't enough content for a MOR edit and settle on UTR. Evan is seen talking about how the five that are in current power are going to be a force to be reckoned with. On top of all that he was also shown to blow off anything Siona was saying, which is not a surprise quite frankly. Evan has managed to keep a consistently decent edit this season and my only complaint is that his edit is slowly starting to be mangled into this Five alliance thing and I feel like he could take a back seat to bigger personalities and characters if he continues to just "Follow the Leader" presa. The next couple of episodes will be the ultimate determiner on where Evan's edit is truly taking him.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Alex G. | 1 Confessional | MOR2
__________________________
The Problem with Alex's edit is that he is literally seen just saying that he's going to follow people and play it safe and not make any moves for now. While that strategy works for Schuble, Schuble's edit is far superior in contrast, meaning that Alex G is going to be nothing more than a support character this season for the Sabrina/Schuble duo going forward, I see nothing interesting in Alex's edit unless he finally decides to start playing the game.

Jordan | 1 Confessional | MOR2
__________________________
Schuble is still one of the most prominent characters this season and was one of the few guys to snag a MOR edit while not going to tribal. While Schubles edit was very descriptive on what he plans to do and who the threats are, there wasn't enough content to give him a CP edit this week. Aside from that this was a much-needed cooldown episode for Schuble as he's been seen as the most likely to win in terms of edit when it comes to the Urukhai tribe. Where does Schuble's edit take him next? With the looming double tribal council coming up my theory is Chris L will win immunity and Schuble will find some way to save Chris T sending one of the more irrelevant people home, which will only further push his story in the direction it needs to go. If he doesn't however and Chris T leaves in the next episode, then I fear Schubles edit will be one of him eventually finding himself in a powerless position fighting to stay alive each week, this next episode is crucial in the Schuble story arc.

Chris T.| 2 Confessionals | MORN2
____________________________
Poor Chris T. has been talking all season about how people need to make moves and take a shot at Chris L and his minions. Chris T's edit however is in a do or die situation right now, because his edit so far has been solely based around fighting to stay alive and take a shot at those in power. Either he will wind up being one of the boots tomorrow or he just may be able to take a shot at one of the minions and send them home. With the number of people with good edits being sent home this season, (Ryan & Siona), I don't think there will be such a continued trend of good edits going home, we will more than likely see a few of those irrelevant players bite the dust in the coming episodes and if Chris T can survive this episode coming up I have no doubt that he's going to go to the jury stage of this game and possibly further.

Rebecca | 2 Confessionals | MOR2
____________________________
The problem with Rebecca's edit is while she's seen as no threat to others, her game this episode was solely based around if Ashley left she wouldn't know what to do because Ashley is her lifeline to the other contestants. As it stands I don't see anything going for Rebecca in terms of her edit moving forward, the one person she's aligned with has a worse edit than her, and that's saying something.

Holli | 2 Confessionals | MOR3
_________________________
Holli's edit this time revolved around her thought process into how to justify to her alliance that Ashley wasn't the right person to kick out and that they should take the shot at Siona instead, which in terms wound up in her favor, of which is a plus for any chance she has to win. Holli this season is out for blood and is willingly to do what it takes to win. As for her edit, she is doing fine for now but needs to snap out of the MOR phase quick if she wants to be a top force this season. She has been seen this season as one of the biggest personalities so far and probably will have a big impact on breaking up the Chris L fun clan when the time comes. Ultimately Her decision to keep Ashley should not come back to bite her, but only further help her alliance that I see in the further future of (ChrisL./Holli/Shannon/Eric/Ashley/Rebecca/Evan/Micah)

Sierra | 2 Confessionals | MOR3
________________________
After two UTR edits, this was one episode that gave us a little more insight into what Sierra really has been thinking. So far Sierra has taken a backseat in terms of edit, but this time around she's seen as one of the five determining the fate of Ashley vs Siona. My only problem with Sierra is that even though she saw no real advantages in keeping Ashley and only perks in keeping Siona, she still went with the majority to kick out Siona. She's also a little clueless as to where she believes she stands on her tribe when she counts Her alliance + Shannon.... + Shannon, that should tell you how much she really knows. Other than that Sierra really won't be a big contender this season and most likely just another filler character for the overall Titans soon to clash.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Michelle | 3 Confessionals | CP4
___________________________
The one thing about Michelle's edit that fascinates me is that she is almost shown in a gamebot light with all these presumptions of what she believes to be real, then turning out not to be real at all. She's a very smart player with a solid edit so far. But my only complaint is two things... the people she either wants to work with or is working with have completely shit edits and two, she's been seen to be wrong on so many things, from believing she can just fly under the radar to trying to get Ashley out, it's no wonder that the majority didn't include her in on the plan to get Siona out. Moving forward it'll be interesting to see where Michelle's edit takes her and this next episode is a breakthrough for her.

Siona | 3 Confessionals | CP4
________________________
I feel like this episode was set up to go one of two ways, and the fact remained that once Ryan went home, Siona's alliance simply didn't have anybody with any good edits aside from partially Michelle. So, headed into the whole Ashley vs Siona battle, I had a looming thread that this could be Siona's time to go, which I was right. She was seen thinking she had it all figured out headed into the vote and thought the numbers were in her favor, which is never a good sign. Ultimately like I said before, I had a feeling the whole "I can't play the game without Ryan", line was foreshadowing an imminent demise, which I was right.

Shannon | 4 Confessionals | CP5
__________________________
This episode was great for Shannon's storyline as I had previously feared that her story was slowly being entangled into the Chris L variety hour. She's seen being very aware of where the lines in the sand are and wasn't afraid to draw first blood this episode. Shannon and Holli managed to draw in a solid five to be the deciding factor in who went home this episode. Shannon is among the Top 3 to possible win this season and in my eyes is currently leading the winner contenders list. She is seen always taking precautions when going into situations always evaluating it and explaining why to the audience before she does it, example being her reluctant to tell Eric she was his partner and then ultimately deciding it was the right decision because she wants to remain unsketched to the eye of the people she's aligned with.

hannah_parks great stuff as always! The one thing I'll say is that I never try to shoehorn people into places they shouldn't be -- I think that's one of the big differences between me and CBS. I'm telling the story, and know it's a long season and I have more minutes to use -- so I wouldn't read short spells of absence or non-CP content for an episode as a deal-breaker at all.

Separately I'm very surprised to see Holli not get a CP as she was overwhelming the vote for player of the week, her strategic content about the reasons for saving Ashley was pretty essential to the ep I thought.

It was, but I felt as if it was slightly not enough to award a CP rating titan24maniac
I had been going back and forth on it a lot
