A write-up of the major events in Casting game #9726 Sep 9, 2009
My first game is finishing up, and my allies and I are excited to have done as well as we have.

I started out on the first day teaming up with Arctic_m00n, OneAndOnly16, and Babbo, and we quickly identified our first major threat: a player named Faust. Faust had played 3 games prior, and taken 3rd place, 3rd place, and 5th place.  I have never seen anybody post so much and say so little.  By posting so frequently, he gathered plusses from a large number of people.  We knew that if we didn't do anything, he would probably make it to our finals, so as much as we hated to neg, on day 3, we knew that we would probably have to to keep him down.  On day 4 he was on the chopping block, and it didn't take too much work to convince the house to vote him out.

At the beginning of day 3, I had a brief public chat with Arctic_m00n (we were plussing each other all the way), and then went to bed.  When I got up, I chatted briefly with Faust, Katushka, and Shyann.  I noticed that I was plussing them, but none of them were plussing me back.  Then Arctic_m00n came online again and noticed that our conversation earlier was at 0 points per post; somebody had negged us.  At this point Katushka was the only one left.  We asked her to plus our conversation earlier to see if she was the one who negged us, and her response was "Why?" before she logged off.  On day 4, we noticed a rash of other neggings that took place whenever Katushka seemed to be on, so we knew who our next target had to be.

On day 6, we decided that Shyann had associated herself a bit too much with Katushka and Faust, and she became our next target.

On day 7, we knew we had one more problem: a player named Lucindril was a very frequent poster, and we knew that if he was around at the end of day 8, one of us would most likely be algo'd.  I feel a little bit bad about having to neg him onto the block that day.  He was a really cool guy, and I look forward to a chance to play with him again; this time, perhaps on the same team.  Lucindril knew that in order to make it to the final 4, one of us had to go, but he didn't realize that we were already a team.  He messaged a couple of us with the plan to vote out OneAndOnly tomorrow if he was on the block.

On day 8, Lucindril and OneAndOnly were on the block, but 4 of us voting out Lucindril, and 2 of them voting out OneAndOnly definitely end up in our favor

Now it is day 9, and we feel very happy to be where we've gotten.  I could not have asked for a better team to work with.  Thank you guys

P.S. - Everybody let me know what you guys think of my write-up.

Yet another top 8 blog post Sep 8, 2009
First game
top 8
you're probably not too surprised
I think I'm guaranteed for top 6
I think it's guaranteed that somebody who is inactive will also make it into the top 6
I think this gives me an excellent shot at top 4
Is there anything else I'm supposed to talk about in a top 8 blog post?

It's getting dull Sep 7, 2009
imageThere are only a few people that seem to post;  I think half of the game is just waiting for all of the inactive people to get algo'd out.  It would really be much more interesting if everybody were actually participating.  I guess it makes it more likely that I will do well, but it feels like my real fight is against boredom, and I just have to keep on going.

I'm playing my first game - obviously a casting game.

Does anybody have any strategy suggestions?
