As yall know, yoko_homo was given the Power to give one of the Tops last round an immunity potion that can be used any round on themselves or anyone else before the Semis.
They said, "So i like that song of allie but i dont like the composition .. i dont like the vocals from the beaches. So i pick chappell roan."
Now for this Rounds theme! The theme this round is one of the most complicated imo so I'm using it now to weed out the good and bad. GLUTTONY! You can explain how your song fits the theme or leave that up to me to interpret!
You have until these blog expires to post hunties!
This round I have chosen Florence + the Machine, “Hunger”.
This is a great song and it definitely represents gluttony, and pay attention to the lyric “they’re gonna crucify me” which plays into the deadly sins theme for this season!
I've chosen Cherry by Lana Del Rey as I think it best encapsulates the theme of gluttony. The song recounts a passionate lover and Lana uses the imagery of gluttonous hoarding of fruit (to the point where it rots) to represent over-indulging in a lover.
noun: gluttony
habitual greed or excess in eating.
I decided to take the first part of the definition which deals with indulgence and take it away from the more food centric thinking that’s most commonly associated with gluttony. You can be gluttonous in different areas of your life, including sexual desires which can become a habitual greed. I think my song “What’s Your Pleasure” fits that perfectly. https://youtu.be/qS_o7XpnEqA?si=R1rXJw1qhz8PcohR
Gluttony is related to addiction and obsession with something in excess where we can no longer live without it and we lose control.
I think it's a risky song, but I chose it because the lyrics fit very well with the meaning of the word, this song talks about the addiction to "pills" to feel better, how we normalize this addiction to do common everyday activities and we can't live without it anymore
I went with this because I've always interpreted Gluttony as the need for consumption. Literally with food and liquid but I like the figurative comparisons: the need for wealth, fame, relationships. That fascinates me more and this song I think is an interesting take on the need for a relationship (specifially with this one person) which is known to be bad and toxic but the person craves it so much they can't help it. Its also probably my fav Halestorm song so yay!
