Tim and Beck’s Music Time Machine - Episode..

3 tbrown_47, Apr 8, 2021

The results are in! It was definitely interesting seeing what songs pump you. It certainly seems like we all have pretty different interpretations of this which is what makes hosting these games so fun. Here are my and Becksta20 comments.
Bblover96: Blue (Da Ba Dee) by Eiffel 65
T: I honestly rocked out to this as a kid - pretty sure it was my very first favorite song as a 4 year old, so the nostalgia factor is there. That said, it’s very repetitive. Once you get past the first minute or so, you’ve kind of heard everything the song has to offer.
B: This was so repetitive and I don’t know if I can forgive you for that. It is funny overall but not really a song that pumps me up
lukesurvives: We Like to Party (the Vengabus) by The Vengaboys
T: The 90s really were something weren’t they? This song (and music video) makes me laugh so much. This is kind of in the same vein as Blue (Da Ba Dee) for me, but there’s something endearing about these cheesy 90s songs.
B: My kids recently ruined this song by singing their version from school (see subordinate conjunctions). In any event, this has otherwise always been quite a fun song to sing along to.
joshgillespie: Baby One More Time by Britney Spears
T: Not the biggest Britney fan, but this is an iconic bop. I can feel the hype.
B: This song builds and it really is such a good song! I kinda think it’s hard to go past this one!
vanitysmurf: I Believe I Can Fly by R. Kelly
T: Kind of an out of the box submission. Lyrically, I can definitely see how this could hype someone up.
B:This isn’t what I’d go to as a pump up song and after listening to it again it still doesn’t take me where I want to go. I love the song but it’s slow and doesn’t quite go far enough with it.
kingjames13: Juicy by The Notorious B.I.G.
T: Great song. The beat is good, the lyrics are great, and I can definitely vibe out to this.
B: I feel this one appealed to Tim more than me. I need something I can sing to if I’m going to get pumped up but not a bad song and as surprising as this might be, I can’t say I know it so bonus point for this one!
Fromawindow: Sixteen by No Doubt
T: Tragic Kingdom is a really solid album. This isn’t my favorite, but maybe you were going for the bonus point? Regardless, I liked this song quite a bit.
B: I literally wore my Tragic Kingdom CD out with how much I listened to it. It came out when I was 12 so you know I played this song dreaming of being 16! It’s a great song and definitely brings the jams!
Galaxies: Bills, Bills, Bills by Destiny’s Child
T: Kind of surprised (and a bit disappointed) you didn’t use Jumpin Jumpin because that would’ve slapped. I do really like this song, but it’s not really a hype song for me.
B: I like this song but it never really gets to that pump up status for me. It kinda just falls short..

RESULTS - ROUND 1: I’M A LOVER NOT A..

10 Becksta20, Nov 2, 2020

This was incredibly difficult! I have been introduced to some songs I never would have listened to if it wasn’t for this game!
As I found it so difficult and I had no intention of eliminating anyone in the first round (it just doesn’t give me enough time to know your music personality), I’m going to put the results into buckets! Within those buckets I’ve done my best to order favourite to least favourite!
As I have had so many join and I’ve been happy to add people in because I love you all, I’ve also decided that I’ll need to do 5 eliminations next round. Also, please make sure not to post a double up. I’ve allowed it once on this blog because I decided no eliminations anyway and couldn’t wait any longer for a response.
I will post round 2 later today.
Knew and loved!
Carriexoxo24xo - Same Love by Macklemore (I truly love this song, it is everything) - you have immunity but still must submit a song
woah - I’ll Have To Say I Love You in a Song by Jim Croce (what a rare find this is and a big risk to take in a game like this! I listened to this album with my Dad a lot growing up so this song brings back wonderful memories!)
evictionfreak - Love on Top by Beyonce (This is such a fun song and I really belt it out when I sing along)
mrkk - Make You Feel My Love by Adele (This is a beautiful song and Adele has an amazing voice)
nanonerd - Somebody to Love by Queen (A classic, nothing else needs to be said)
BBLover96 - Love Me Like You Do by Ellie Goulding (great song, love Ellie!)
connorthomson - Love Story by Taylor Swift (An easy choice to make it to the top of my list!)
Christian_ - Bleeding Love by Leona Lewis (This song reminds me of a movie called No Strings Attached which I love, also a powerful song)
Darbe - Love Runs Out by One Republic (High energy catchy song - love it!)
nateclove and shaniquajones - Love Song by Sara Bareilles (Sara has a wonderful voice and I do love this song)
j4ckwilko - Love The Way You Lie by Eminem ft. Rihanna (Eminem was one of my favourite artists for many years, pre 2006! But I do love this collab)
midiaw - Lose you to love me - Selena Gomez (Ugh Selena is just amazing! I love her and her energy and this song is heart wrenching)
chels052_ - Where is the Love by The Black Eyed Peas (A song to call out humans everywhere, I love it)
mathboy9 - When Love Takes Over by David Guetta ft. Kelly Rowland (An oldie but a goodie for me)
redskanto - I will always love you by Whitney Houston (I mean it’s Whitney, where else could this song live but on this list!)
Did not know but now love!
stuartlittle16 - Love so Soft by Kelly Clarkson (Quite catchy, love Kelly!)
aquamarine - I Think I’m in Love by Kat Dahlia..
