And now the most emotional song which is also the most inspirational song ever. I think Jessie’s intro in this live version (which is why I picked this version) just explains it all. It explains why this song was written, it explains why this is number 1 on this list and it explains why its my most played song on iTunes lol. I know many of you feel like other songs should be in this spot, but for me, this is my go to song, this is the one that cheers me up and this is the songs I'm proud to call my most emotional song

Number 2:
Sarah McLachlan- Angel
Two words: Dog Commercial (featured above). Honestly, even if it wasn’t in that commercial, this would probably still make me sob. Like this is my go to song when I’m sad and I feel like listening to sad songs. This is the best in that category hands down. Its just so wow. I really don't know what else I can say.

Number 3:
Celine Dion- My Heart Will Go On
If you don't understand why this is number 3 than you either think its higher, have never seen Titanic or you just have no taste in music. This is the most iconic song probably in movie history. It brings back all the emotions of the movie. DON’T LET GO JACK!!! I was debating having this higher but I think the difference between this and the top 2 is that I enjoy listening to the other two a little more. The top 3 were all so so so so close and so the difference between 1 and 3 was really nit-picky. Still love this

Number 4:
Emeli Sande- Read All About It pt. 3
This is another one where the scene somewhat influences the ranking but definitely less than Breathe Me. I found out about this song through Attraction’s audition on BGT which was super emotional (featured above, just for reference), however I don't really think of it when I listen to this song. This is such a beautiful song about standing up to everyone and just being like fuck you I’m gonna be big, you’ll see one day. Which is such an important message to not let the haters hate. I feel like my explanation isn’t justifying why its number 4 but if you listen to it, you’ll understand. Love this song so much.

Number 5:
Glee (Alex Newell/Unique Adams)- I Know Where I've Been
So this song is a little different than the others so i'm not going to surprised if some disagree with this. Most of the other songs are emotional in a sad or inspirational way. This is here because of its meaning. So it has two meanings. The first one which is why it was written was to talk about black history in the play/movie Hairspray, which is so so important. But Glee took it to a whole new level incorporating LGBT history which just hits home. In this scene transgender student Unique performs in front of a transgender choir while newly transitioned Coach Beast joins them. I’m not african american and I already found this song so inspiring before hearing this version, but I am gay and this just brought a new meaning to an amazing song. Not to mention that Alex Newell performs this better than anyone I’ve ever seen perform it including Jennifer Hudson and Queen Latifa.This is in the top 5 because it makes me cry of happiness.

Number 6:
Sia- Breathe Me
PLEASE READ COMMENTS BEFORE WATCHING EITHER VIDEO
Out of all the songs on this list, I was most conflicted on this one. At one point it was in the top 3, at one point it was 11th. If I were ranking videos, like not just songs, the clip from Cyberbully (featured above) would be number one hands down. It makes me cry every time and I’ve probably watched it over 100 times at this point. So because this clip basically introduced the song to me and I’ve watched it so many times, when I listen to this song I basically replay the scene in my head which makes me cry. The song itself is emotional, but not top 5 or maybe even top 10 emotional which is why it was so hard to rank, but ultimately the scene pushes this into the top 10 and very close to the top 5 because like just watch it and tell me you don't cry because if you do you’d be lying. But I couldn’t let it be in the top 5 because without the scene, this song isn't as emotional. I’m posting the link to the song and a link to the scene. If you’ve never seen the movie or heard the song, I’d recommend listening to the song by itself first, then watching the scene, then re-listening to the song. The song stats at 3:30 in the scene but please watch the whole thing. If you haven’t seen the movie, I’d probably start with the movie though lol. When Sam calls Taylor’s mom, that part is what gets me every time. If i’m not already crying before. Also with this song, Sia’s just amazing.

Kelly Clarkson- Piece By Piece
Kelly Clarkson’s just a queen. I saw this when it was on live (like when it was originally aired, I wasn't actually there. HOWEVER i was there when she performed with Billy Gilman on The Voice and that was FLAWLESSSSSSSS) and like oh my god I was crying with her. Like her singing about her father leaving her while she’s pregnant about to burst is just so crazy and Kelly’s just so genuine and when she pauses because she’s crying it's just too much. Part of me thinks I have this too high, but then I remember my reaction the first time I saw this live and its just so much.

If you didn’t watch Glee, first what’s wrong with you, do it now, its not the last time Glee's on this list. Second you might not get this back story, but it doesn’t really matter. That feeling of I’m trying everything I can and nothing’s working is so relevant to everyone. I know I feel that way about school like I study my butt off and then I get a B or C or D and I’m just like what can I do to get it right. So maybe its just me, but this song gets me so emotional.

Number 10:
Calum Scott- Dancing On My Own
So this is the only reality show performance I have on this list and I’m letting it in because he released this as a single (like Leona Lewis did with Run) but this is more emotional than the music video which is sort of weird. But ya, I mean if you don't get why its on here you need to get your ears checked because there is so much feeling in this song. To my knowledge, he’s the first person to cover this song slowed down and after this it was done in this style so many times. Everything about this, including the golden buzzer, was just everything. So amazing. Love him. Love this song. BRB crying

PLEASE READ EXPLANATION BEFORE WATCHING
Ok so I’m expecting to be negged/called insane for having a Hannah Montana song. But let me explain. In June, I graduated high school and this was the anthem for my friend group and I. If you listen to the lyrics, it fits so well with graduating High School and leaving your friends that you’ve had for so long. Like this song should be played at every graduation. Not to mention this perfectly recaps Hannah Montana, but that’s not why it’s on here. I was really debating where to have it because this is more of a personal thing than an actual “emotional song” but for me it’s emotional for personal reasons so that’s why it’s this high.

Number 12:
Andra Day- Rise Up
Like I said in the last blog, I was really debating between this and the last one because tbh Andra Day and Emeli Sande sound somewhat similar. But ultimately this song is just so inspirational and beautiful that it had to beat Clown. This is probably the newest released song on my list and I feel like that should explain just how amazing it is, that it can get this high being so new. The reason its only at number 12 is like Clown, sometimes I get bored with it and end up turning it off after the first minute, but I guess that happens to every good song when you've listened to it enough times. I mean except for my top 8 which I can listen to on repeat forever and I wouldn't get bored.

Number 13:
Emeli Sande- Clown
Ok so I was debating a lot between this one and number 12 but I ended up putting this at 13 because the other one is super uplifting while this is more sad and I like being uplifted more than sad lol. But anyways, this song tells a story that everyone has felt at some point. Sometimes people don't like you and you just don't know why whether that's in a relationship, friendship or something else and you just don't know what to do so you do nothing. Like this song is so painful to listen to because it gets me so emotional, but ultimately its only at 13 because the song itself is a little slow. half the time I get captivated and am just mesmerized the whole time, and the other half I get a minute in and then get bored and go to the next song.
