More Valentine's Matches 馃挭

23 BengalBoy, Feb 14, 2019

I'll still complete everyone else it's just a pain in the wilkins to tag so many people so I'll probably mail the rest
#CharlieBibi x #Dash - A pretty obvious match, but a good one nonetheless. You two just make it work and I reckon you should get together for some good old fashioned Valentine's rimming.
#adamgrant x #Ghettoyah - A couple of young up n coming players with a love for reality TV and everything about it. I think you two should go on a romantic Asian boat ride together.
#noah_kondon x #Foxox - Noah, you're a super nice and respectful fella who deserves nothing but the best. I actually have no idea if you're into men or women but from ya blogs you seem like one of the straighter members so I'll go with the Vegan demon herself, Foxy Bingo.
#CheapCheep x #Halloween - Big Cheep, I feel like you and Ween would make a perfect match. Both funny guys despite some of the slack you get and I can just imagine you two lads having a saucy sleepover where a loud alarm rings whenever something is posted in the shop game. You could steal a design for one another for V Day.
#hujain x #Hash - A match in the making since you were a young lad. Both of you have only honed your camming skills since, so it's time to get it back on for a V Day session.
#koolness234 x #chibideidara - Big Josh, you're a big personality who needs a man who isn't as loud but can still hold his own. A man who would bot lane for you on League of Legends (idk what that means but I hope it's romantic) and a man who could talk stars for hours. There's no one better for the job than Monsieur Ponc茅 himself.
#Thumper91 x #Forest_Knight - Unfortunately sportsgeek is taken but I got you the next best thing- your Forest Knight in shining armor. Two sweet and genuine Southerners who would make a great couple.
#NataliaAzoqa x #Eilish - You've had a few boyfriends in Castings but I think I know the right man for you. Eilish. A true modern day alpha male who would hold your hand through games and lead you to success.
#Evaa1996 x #davidfisher - I think you need a nice vanilla boy who would give you flowers and chocolates and tell you you're beautiful. A man like the Kingfisher himself, big Davy Fisher. I hope he gets you a Valentine's gift or else I'll have to slap him for passing up the opportunity.
#Caleb9211 x #Delete2544 - A couple of good ol' boys looking for a good ol' time.
#Insanity x #Fritzyyyyy - Two sharp men with the looks, the brains, and the significant gains. Both old school boize with top senses of humor, I think u two wud go out on a pedalo together.
#etaco75 x #egaga911 - I spent about 2 years constantly mixing you two lads up but I'm pretty sure you both love trolling around on Tengaged and talking about stars. A couple of gays ready to make plays and I think this is a relationship that never decays.
#rodrigueseve - #ricktworick1 - Two confident gays who just love a bit of k-pop. I think this would make an incredible match..

Rick's Top 40 Favourite TSC Songs of 2016..

4 ricktworick1, Jan 15, 2017

TSC group link: http://www.tengaged.com/group/3616
Notes:
- All songs sent in between TSC 226 to 264 are eligible
- This is based on my personal opinion - I mean there's a reason it's MY LIST. Please do not take any offense from what I think of. Strictly my own thoughts
- Contrary to some weird belief, I don't believe that my music taste is better than anyone else's, although I have no idea if it's useful to post that because every year there are some idiots crying about their songs not being appreciated enough. This list is for you all to have some fun and laugh at possible comments I make.
- I also include some of my own entries, but don't worry, I'm not that arrogant to have more than 10 entries about myself
24. Inna - Bad Boys - #CharlieBibi, TSC231, 2nd, 110 pts

The biggest problem of this is definitely the lack of a proper chorus - it's basically a light drop with some computerised voice mumbling. It's a bit of a shame, because this is Inna's best release since "Amazing" which was released in 2009 - almost 8 years ago. The great tropical beat really lifts up an otherwise slightly above average tune - imagine if this song had a similar chord progression to some of the pop songs from Taylor Swift - it definitely would not sound AS GOOD.
23. LP. - Lost On You - #ricktworick1, TSC252, 4th, 88 pts

Last year LP. made it to my top 10 with an extremely anthemic "Tokyo Sunrise," but that song had one huge issue - the vocal olympics get extremely difficult to listen to the more I play that single. While on the first listen the TSC202 winner just sounds spectacular, the more clicks you get on that entry, the more tiring it gets. "Lost On You" takes a completely reverse approach - at first this song just sounds like another formulatic indie-pop tune that just doesn't please you, but the more you listen to it, the better it gets. It has got much more of a replay value than the former tune that I mentioned, and I'm quite sure if I redid my 2015 list, "Tokyo Sunrise" would probably barely scrape into my top 40.
22. Dagny - Backbeat - #Fritzyyyyy, TSC240, 6th, 87 pts

An extremely generic intro honestly gave me a scare that this song would be a typical average pop song - I mean, really - all you could have come up with was "oh whoa ah oh?" Thankfully, this watered-down Avril Lavigne lookalike actually got some good production team behind her back, and "Backbeat" is a simple, yet effective tune with some folk-rock elements within the instrumental that are not heard properly at first, but the more you listen to it, the more you notice those elements, some great guitar riffs and flowing synth used there. Just some of the ingredients to make a high-quality, catchy pop tune.
21. Dami Im - Fighting For Love - #Patrick319, TSC261, 1st, 100..

My Top 50 TSC Songs (42-39)

6 krrais, Apr 14, 2016

42. R3HAB & Quintino - "Freak", submitted by CharlieBibi in TSC 229, placed 8th with 68 points (12 points given)

Been obsessed with this song for a while. Great production, great pace and all for a good edm song. My only criticism is the length of this song, the audience want more!
41. Bim - "Stop You", submitted by Smi9127 in TSC 146, placed 1st with 101 points (12 points given)

One of the rare occasions when a slow song wins TSC. Great duet, their harmony is a little weird but that what makes the song different for me.
40. The 1975 - "The Sound", submitted by PrincessTeePee in TSC 226, placed 3rd with 95 points (5 points given)

It's a long story how it gets here. I wasn't a fan of them, when it was on TSC 226 I thought it was different from their old stuffs and loved it, but forgot about it just until last week they are confirmed to play in this festival in my country that I'm planning to attend!! Came back to this and has been my obsession since then. Their new album is great.
39. LP - "Tokyo Sunrise", submitted by ricktworick1 in TSC 202, placed 1st with 206 points (12 points given)

Last year this would've ranked so much higher, this is such a fantastic song but not intended to be repeated so many times. Still when I heard this for the first time I was like "Damn, this is what I've been waiting for a long time!"
For 38 - 35, there will be 1 song each from 2013, 2014, 2015, and 2016

12. Andee - Never Gone

Sent in TSC205 by #CharlieBibi, placed 2nd with 114 points.
God damnit, this is the shit. I honestly love the fusion of pop and rock music due to the fact that these two are like peanut butter & jelly - they always go well together. She sounds extremely sassy and bossy throughout the whole thing and I LOVE THAT. Angry female singers are definitely one of the best parts of music these days - the raw emotion from the madness the singer has to experience should be the reason behind more decent music being created.
11. Tooji - Rebels
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dBnGDAEMSLU
Sent in TSC191 by Talian, placed 2nd with 103 points.
Okay, this may sound like something that'd fit perfectly for Eurovision Song Contest, but I don't really care - this still sounds awesome. The progression here is pretty stellar - the climax at the chorus and that drop - like holy damn! Definitely one of the better things in this genre. This basically sounds like a more hardcore version of Adam Lambert's "Ghost Town", which is also probably why Tooji fared better in this ranking.
10. Major Lazer & DJ Snake - Lean On
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YqeW9_5kURI
Sent in TSC194 by Js21, placed 1st with 134 points.
Before this tune shat all over the charts worldwide, it was kept silently in TSC. To me, this was one of the least expected wins, simply due to the fact that prior to TSC194 such songs never did well. The indian/jamaican feel in the drop is pretty much the reason to live for, and together with brilliant verses and the progression to the drop, I can only say that this song really deserved both the commercial success, and the two TSC wins, as it also won TSC Record of the Year 2015.
9. LP. - Tokyo Sunrise
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NFnIuBB9YAo
Sent in TSC202 by #ricktworick1, placed 1st with 206 points.
People are probably tired of this song by now, but this was the first entry of mine that I got immediately hooked into. The odd fusion of indie and asian instrumentation worked very well, and her voice, damn. She reminds me of Stevie Nicks musically - LP. would certainly do well in rock music. This tune would later flop terribly in the TSC 2015 contest. As Steven said, "When you think you're loved, but in fact everyone hates..

24. Ailee - I Will Show You
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MCEcWcIww5k
Sent by #CharlieBibi in TSC210, placed 7th with 80 points.
This is the only K-pop entry that made it onto my TSC list in 2015, but damn it's a great one. Charlie usually sends so many joke entries, but as soon as this was sent, my wig was snatched. Clearly inspired by PCD's "Hush Hush" and Gloria Gaynor's "I Will Survive," this song may not be as great as the latter classic, but it definitely keeps up with the quality of the melodic line. Great buildup from a slow start to orgasmic chorus, faster pace and Beyonce-alike moments - it's not hard to see why this song was so successful among the k-pop fans.
23. Josef Salvat - Open Season
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AXiMS5XW6kA
Sent by #Fritzyyyyy in TSC218, placed 1st with 100 points.
This artist has been entered into TSC so many times already, but no song has so far been better than the brilliant "Open Season." I usually don't really enjoy male artists - my lists are most likely to be composed of singers of opposite gender, but Josef is that kind of a guy that consistently got it so right with his music. The reason why this single is superior to everything else he has released lays on the production and the fact that he doesn't let his voice overpower the production, therefore finding a perfect balance between those factors. It's sometimes worth sending the same artist to finally win with it, Steve.
22. Verite - Wasteland
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MYHMzOYNGxA
Sent by #Mack3199 in TSC206, placed 9th with 69 points.
I feel like people really underrated this one, I understand that TSC is not as it used to be, but that doesn't prevent me from liking something that would have won in the past, especially in 2012 or 2013. This is a very typical TSC-esque entry, with the buildup style revolved around the progression from slower verses to the faster, more production-based chorus. Same with Josef, she doesn't let her vocal overpower the background - something that many artists (like Ariana Grande) tend to forget about.
21. Softengine - The Sirens
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u03k0Pq2ICQ
Sent by #Monrooster in TSC203, placed 1st with 112 points.
This would have fared much better if it was not for the weird dancy beat which happens near the end of the song. The progression, the unique, raspy vocal with some rock - all of the elements that makes this tune sound like something I have..

12. Sore - Bad Boy Is Back (feat. Dorian)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v6wDz__3kS0
Sent in TSC200 by #CharlieBibi, finished 22nd with 37 points.
How I imagine this whole thing was created:
Sore: Hey, I haven't got a single idea on how to start my career well, but I have a vocal ability to sing some good stuff, but at the same time I want to keep a radio appeal.
Producer: Well, no problem, with me you will be propelled into stardom. I will give you beats that have been used a thousand times in the past year, and most importantly I will feature someone that will most definitely make your song as radio-resembling as possible.
Sore: Who is that someone that will be on my track?
*Dorian magically appears out of nowhere while eating donuts*
Sore: Who the hell is that fatty?
Producer: That 'fatty' will help you with your career. He hasn't got any hit songs, but I'm sure he will be a good replacement for Pitbull, since our label was unable to get him due to budget cuts. Oh, by the way, your music video will be quite budget-limited as well, so get on something that will be as cheesy as possible to attract the viewers.
Dorian: So Sore, wanna hang out?
*Sore runs away after being forced to do the atrocity that the both the video and the song is*
11. Miranda Sings - Where My Baes At?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kKpo0v0wIbE
Sent in TSC209 by #NerdBird44, finished 26th with 0 points.
It is hard to believe, but this tune wasn't horrible enough to even crack the top 10 of this list. Surely, the short length of the song certainly helps this case, as the time spent on this torture is much shorter than expected, so that was a pleasant surprise. The pros end with the fact that this song is not supposed to be taken seriously, because everything else about this song is just ugh. Nevermind the fact that she pretends that she cannot sing by purposely using her tone to sound as off as possible, the problem here is the fact that the backing track is honestly so boring and one-dimensional that her off-key singing can be actually somewhat accepted. Be aware, next 10 songs are in my opinion even worse than this piece of utter crap.
10. Dhanush - Why This Kolaveri Di

Sent in TSC222 by #Yoshitomi, finished 16th with 17 points.
I'm not really fond of Hindi entries, I usually find them too weird for my musical preferences, but such type of music isn't usually that bad to be featured on my worst list. So why..
