Let me start by saying thank you everyone for submitting. I am looking forward to this series and what you guys have to bring! This was not easy to critique. Some will shine! And some not so much! But hope you guys don't take it to heart and we have fun! Not onto the critiques!
#Booyahhayoob: New Divide by Linkin Park
First off RIP Chester. I will always be forever saddened by his passing. This song to me is one of their top hits! The vocalization was on point with the instrumental work. No side was being overpowered to me. What I like the most about it was the harmony was consistent and it didn’t have any unneeded tones. A very great first submission, and I look forward to what more you can bring!
#Thnksfrthmmrs: God Went North by Nothing More
I appreciate that you took a risk, I always will encourage everyone to play to your hearts content. This song is brand new to me, and the meaning behind it is very inspirational. To go through the level of grief is something that not everyone can achieve. You can feel the pain in the vocals, and so it hits hard to me. I will say the instrumental play overpowered the lyrics some. Like some things were hard to make out and if the lyrics weren’t on there, I probably would have not known what was said. A good first submission either way!

This was a fucking snap! I have never heard of either group, so I was curious on what this could be. It screamed ballad number based on the title. As soon as that beat drop, I was off my couch ready to dance my ass off! The beat was on point, and the harmony was such a joy to listen to. You started strong, so I look forward to what you can bring in the next round!
#FromAWindow: Cypress by Sarah Kingsley
Another artist I have never heard of before! The melody was very soothing. The drum beats and her vocals flowed correctly and she needs more recognition from what I am seeing through her social networks. Some of the song I will not lie did kind of get loss for me as far as the chorus goes. Just seemed to slow itself down when I didn’t think it needed to. All in all I really did enjoy this song, and it’s nice to meet you too!
#Pekka: In Case You Don’t Live Forever by Ben Platt
I’m going to start by saying that I am one of those who don’t get the hype of Ben Platt. I have no idea why; he just seems very off putting! Credit where credit is due though. This song is so damn beautiful. You feel the passion and the vocals match the way this song needed to be. I just wished he would have toned down a bit in various moment. I feel the song itself didn’t need to have some of the high falsetto notes that it did. But maybe after this, I will give Mr. Platt one last chance.
