have the lowest expectations for this survivor season ever coming into a season (even lower than post south pacific) but damn the cast pic with the cowgirl hat lady flicking off the camera is just too fucking funny LOL
its a shame she will probably get an intro confessional or two about her job and then promptly be ignored the whole season, and if she somehow isnt ignored all her content will be her talking about the stupid season theme and/or her finding an advantage - aka forcing the editors to give her the bare minimum situational content to make way for the people making #bigmoves and/or alpha males

my main criticism of last season was that the season was kinda lifeless and almost just running through the motions. This season i feel like that same thing applies in a slightly different way.
(apart from the same #bigmoves #blindsides #resume #theGAME feel of modern survivor that i dont love) They are trying to have personal moments but its just really cliche extended confessional moments of stephanie going ~im doing this for my kids~ or michael going ~I love this game~. Like for lack of better words I feel like with the personal segments they are TELLING us instead of SHOWING us in a way that results in really weak storytelling.
Also randomly/specifically I caught a reality tv trope that always bugs me whenever I notice it. its usually in cooking/talent shows where contestants will say "i dont want my dish to be xxx" and then the judges will say the EXACT SAME wording and then ill think "okay wow so they just regurgitated the same exact wording from the judges instead of making their own confessional"
that pretty much was the case with laurel with her whole "being what they need me to be" confessional and then they showed her talking to jenna talking about the same thing. Yes it could have originated from laurel but that just bothered me randomly.

They will compete for HOH and the last pair standing will decide who wins. They both will have immunity for the week.

Episode 1 :
The returning house guests options are SANDRA DIAZ - TWINE and CIRIE FIELDS.
America votes for... CIRIE!
Whitney wins the first HOH competition!
Whitney nominates Alex & Morgan! ( #BigMoves )
America nominates Shane.
Scott & Justin are drawn to participate.
Morgan wins the POV! And she uses it on herself.
Renom is Cirie.
Cirie, in a lowkey panic to not flop, quickly bonds with Neeley, and forks an alliance with Neeley, Justin & Whitney.
Shelby, being her problematic self, starts drama with both Scott & Cirie.
Due to her pretty bad social game so far, America starts disliking Morgan.

if #BIGMOVES are being made EVERY.SINGLE.ROUND. then are they really still BIG moves or just... moves?
like pearl islands for example had blindsides and shifting alliances EVERY ROUND and i loved how it was just shown how it happened with everyones thoughts and and intentions being shown throughout. if pearl islands happened in today's era i can only imagine how the season would have been ruined with #bigmoves and #blindsides being plastered everywhere with different perspectives being purposely left out to blindside the audience instead of the cast.
im explaining it bad but tl;dr is that if every round every single person is trying to make a #bigmove then what constitutes a "big move" if "big moves" are now average moves? existential survivor #rant over
