Mental Health

1 hellocat, Mar 8, 2022

Over two years ago, Caroline Flack was hounded by the press and media which ultimately led to her taking her own life, and it seems like us as a society haven't learnt since.
In the early 2010's, the same situation happened with the great Amy Winehouse, she was hounded by the media which led her down a spiral that she was unable to recover, resulting in her major anxiety issues and her eventual overdose that cost her a future, the media and the press destroy lives and this is an issue that needs addressing and not treating people like trash should be something that is engrained into our society, not the other way around.
I love Eurovision, but there is no hiding that the community is toxic, it's a toxic pile of waste where if you express an opinion people disagree with, you will be hounded. In January this year Chanel won Benidorm Fest with the song "SloMo". This wasn't the song Spain wanted, but ultimately it was the song that won and will be going to Turin in May, and when I tell you about the amount of vile comments towards Chanel you wouldn't believe me. It was astronomically bad!
She received many death threats, many people calling for her disqualification and many just screaming obsolete, disgusting comments. Social media is a cesspit where people will spout to #BeKind, and then do the complete opposite. Everyone, and I mean everyone, are hypocrites in this regard and must learn that this is not a way to treat someone, online or not, period. This should be a crime and anyone who does this should be punished and sent to prison, end of.
We shouldn't live in a society where this is accepted, you're allowed an opinion but you are certainly not allowed to take advantage and knock others because of your opinion, this can be extremely damaging for someone's mental health. I've been a mental health advocate for three years now and this is also the third year I'm making this blog this situation isn't getting any better, it's getting way worse and something needs to happen and change need to be made.

What's made me happy are the lovely messages I've received since, but please, you can dislike me but don't neg my blogs when I'm trying to help people who might need it. Very disgusted and disappointed with this website, people need to become better versions of themselves
I'm not even angry, I'm enraged, because I care so much about this subject and tomorrow I've decided to make a blog about my experiences with mental health, hopefully that can make people think about how their actions have consequences and the fact you don't know what people go through, empathy is key.
I won't stop banging on about something I'm passionate about, and by negging these blogs only makes me even more driven to help people who struggle. #BeKind

#BeKind

1 hellocat, Mar 12, 2021

Last year around this time I posted a blog regarding mental health and the start of the Mental Health Campaign #BeKind, something I have stuck to ever since it's started. This of course sparked over the death of British TV presenter Caroline Flack, who killed herself after being attacked constantly online and from the press. Many people was outraged at how people treated her, and showed us how important it is to be kind, regarding mental health and how we treat one another. A year has gone on and this is still massively important.
However, over the past year people haven't followed this, and I have seen social media and Tengaged itself turn even more toxic, as if we took a day to be kind to each other before we went and insulted and said vile things to each other, ALL things that you would be too afraid to say to someone face. I will continue to campaign and remind people to be kind, it goes a long way and if you ingrain it into your brain, you will eventually become the best version of yourself. I wanted to make this blog along with my previous blogs where I briefly talked about it because people do need a reminder, we can't allow or accept being cruel and outright nasty. It makes me sad when I see someone being attacked for expressing a view or just being different, and it makes me even angrier if they were spouting #BeKind and then sending hate; if you have done that, you are a hypocrite.
That doesn't mean you can't change, it is a habit that can be broken, I am an example of that. Now and again something may slip that isn't nice but it is 99% less than what I probably would've done a year or two ago. I acknowledged that something I said could have hurt that person and apologise personally. However over the past few months I have personally made sure I check my message before I send it and think "would I like to receive this message" and I find that a simple but effective way to stop yourself sending a hateful message. It's ingrained into our system to attack when you feel enraged, but you can change and become a better person. It won't happen overnight, but if you have the perseverance and the determination it will happen!
In my next blog, I will post the national emergency hotlines in every country. Wherever you are you can get help if you are having these dark thoughts. Remember your words have consequences and we are all human being who should be treated as such. Remember my DMs are always open and in my place of work I do deal with mental health at school along with teaching, as this is the thing I am most passionate about.
So remember, you don't know what people are going through, so #BeKind. Will do a yearly blog about this.

I enjoyed the game
Made some awsome friends
And stayed true to myself through it all
Always remeber

So being told your ‘protecting a racist’ for not nomming them ONCE! because it didnt fit in with your game at that time!
This isnt protecting a racist at all, this is just playing the game,
People on this site need to stop saying things like this!
Its honetly disgusting
I want and have wanted wakazi out all game!
I didnt vote for her once purely for game purposes!
And thats all!
People react differently to names being thrown around! But in the news over the last year there has been alot of people taking there own life due to trolling and things online
So just take a minute and think about how you address people on here! And how you would feel if someone said things to someone you cares about causing them to do the unthinkable!
Moral of the story is to just play nice, argue and debate fine, but dont throw damaging and hurtful words round
