I remember my first Birthday party, my cousins were singing happy birthday to me and afterwards we all shared cake, laughter, and love yet in the back of my mind, I wanted more.
Only because I saw other kids having more than what I had, by more I mean they had more 'friends' who respected them so ofc they'd have more support. I'm not saying that I don't appreciate my family/cousins being there or saying that they aren't respected, I just think that maybe more ppl could respect my life.
I used to be so scared to get out there, Feb 19th #Pisces I would always wait until dark time to go swing in the park because I was scared of bullies who would just beat me down for being Wakiza. It was so Lonely, Dark, Cold, yet Calming because for a moment I was enjoying something everyone else was doing... that's all I ever wanted to do, I just wanna swing and drink like you guys. I was scared and ashamed for a very long time, until I realized that what I think about myself is what really matters. Its a beautiful feeling to find your self-worth.
I just wish I could tell the kid in me "you don't have to worry about what people think or who decides to stay by you in life, love yourself." maybe then I'd be somewhere by now but we are meant to be where we're meant to be... If I wasn't where I was rn then I wouldn't have been able to save the lives that I have saved. (so far)
So when they asked me at the time what I wanted at the age of 14, I just asked my parents to buy me a Nintendo because I didn't want them to waste money on a party that nobody wanted to come to anyway... I told my Mother about how I felt so she told me "You're gonna have so many friends my boy, don't worry..." then she hugged me, I held onto the hope that maybe one day I would...
I can proudly say today that I have so many friends that I love and would have never met had I not accepted myself for the person that I am, thank you all for being apart of my life<3 I couldn't have asked for a better life, friends, and family.
Despite all ppl that have ever hurt me or the ppl who have yet to hurt me, you never have to worry about me hurting myself, I promise. I'm loud, beautiful, sensitive, obnoxious, stubborn, and proud. I have stood so for 26 years and I just might stand for 26 more.
