This week the theme was at least half of another language and English.
There was a new rule this round where you had to play an actual video showing and not just the link.
With that, I’m sorry Austin but you were auto eliminated for never posting the actual video.
Xanny was also auto eliminated for not submitting this round.
Now onto the rankings.
This week James/ j2999 joined again and will remain as a permanent judge the rest of the game. My close friend Jon/ gominai also was a judge this round. Gena did not submit in time but I can post her rankings when they’re submitted for anyone interested.
cocovanderbilt - 001. Annalisa - ‘Il Mondo Prima Di Te’ : 7.8
Jess - Her voice sounds like Dua Lips with a Lana vibe. I did save this song for my own library. 9/10
James - This is a pleasant song. It’s calm, but like a sweet listen as a whole. Enjoyed it. It being a Sanremo song reduces perhaps originality slightly, but still a good listen.
Song - 7.5, Originality - 0.5. Total - 8/10
Jon - So good. The heartbreak is always a good choice and the song is beautiful. I loved it. But, where is the 50% English? 6.5/10

Jess - This was 2 languages even if not English, and I did enjoy it. It has a good beat. 8/10
James - I’ve never heard Algerian music before, but this was a good start for it. It was quite smooth, nothing too out there, but still made for a solid listen. I did enjoy. Song - 7, Originality - 1. Total - 8/10
Jon - Very good. I love listening to music form other cultures so different. That melody, that beauty… transmits positivity while the lyrics speak of heartbreak. very well. But, where is the 50% English? 7/10

Jess - this song was super catchy. I had never heard it and immediately added to my Apple Music. 8/10
James - I’ve heard a couple songs by this group, but didn’t really get into them. And this was the same. Objectively though, I can see the appeal for a bit of a groovy song here, that satisfies a vibe. Just yeah it’s not my vibe. The rap part was stronger. Song - 5.75, Originality - 0.5. Total - 6.25 —> Rounded up to 6.5/10
Jon - Too simple song and too much autotune, but at least u understood the theme. 7/10

Jess - I normally love Kali and love to vibe out to her music. This wasn’t my fav but did fit the theme 7/10

5.Drink before the War - 8/10 - slow but powerful
6.The Script - The man who can’t be moved - 9/10 - very catchy

So my judging will be a score out of 9 for the song, then a score ranging 0-1 for the ‘originality’. This ‘originality’ may be subjective, hence I am not going to weight it too much!

002. Ed Sheeran - ‘Galway Girl’ : As soon as I knew the theme, this was the song that first came to mind that I expected to see sent. BUT, it IS a strong song, one of Ed Sheeran’s best, and just a pleasant bop, so there’s that. Song rate - 8.5. Originality - 0. Total - 8.5
003. Niall Horan - ‘Seeing Blind’ : Quite a good song. The chorus is solid, the rest is still… pleasant and makes for a good enough listen. Niall has better solo discography, but it’s still a good song. Grew more on me as the song continued. Song rate - 7.25. Originality - 0.5. Total - 7.75
004. 980466 - ‘Traditional Irish Singing’ : Definitely an… interesting submission! Something different. It’s got a happy vibe surrounding it, that boosts the enjoyment.
