New Colour Levels

Hey again some users bought colour levels this month and I tracked it so congrats and here they are...
Actually first the noob of the month is vaultg1rl from levelling up from white to light green! Woah!
And harpo grabbed the most colour levels, going from light green to brown! Holy mackerel!

Damn, there is always this pattern that as soon as an act gets dropped from Simon Cowell's music label, their music become SIGNIFICANTLY before and stop sucking ass. It happened to Cher Lloyd who went from annoying, going-nowhere pop tracks to a pop-ballad that actually suited her very well, and the reverse transition happened to Leona, she went from the soppy, always-boring ballads to some great pop stuff that 'Fire Under My Feet' definitely is. A new attitude, finally some energy, and obviously commercial failure, since Cowell did everything in order to make her flop. He can go fuck off for that, at least she's now musically more interesting.

Christ, this is amazing. The first time I listened to it, I couldn't believe that Beyonce was able to pull off such an amazing tune - I mean her music is usually of high quality, but her voice suits brilliantly to this light, breezy dance track. The verses are absolutely stunning - the emotions evoked in a more clubby song are considered a true rarity, and both her and Arrow Benjamin complement this PERFECTLY. I'm still extremely obsessed with "Runnin'", and some people noted that me fanboying this song has become quite unhealthy. I can't help that.

While we are talking about Christ, here's a Christian song. I usually hate the type of music coming from this genre, but this is simply excellent. Instead of going the obvious pop route (which hurts my ears - why make a pop song about praising your religion? Only Michelle Williams did that right, and maybe Hillsong), NEEDTOBREATHE decided to go more indie-rock, and the featuring vocals of DeGraw were simply made for the production of this tune. Excellent progression from verses to chorus, and damn that emotion. If there were more songs like this in the Christian music genre, I'd maybe convert back into Christianity.

Usually ballads in stinkers are nothing else but useless shit with no use of any production. I was quite skeptical about this song at the start, as it had a typical slow pace, but the great buildup to this strong chorus is such a huge saving grace that it landed on this list of best songs. It's a nice change from the other R&B garbage Estelle had been doing prior to doing some Empire-related stuff, it's never too late!

The whispery-alike vocal may throw you off on the first listen, but once you get used to it, the song is really like something you've never heard before. The slick production is one thing, but the fact that whoever produced this song was able to pull off the eerie-sounding effects into something quite fantastic is extraordinary. And Meg's vocals just adds another layer of uniqueness to this.

I did not particularly enjoy this at first, I thought that this was quite messy after all. However, I would later come across this again in the TSC Best Of and I found it absolutely brilliant from the production standpoint. Vanic really did a great job at creating noises that actually suited well to the structure that already appeared in the original version of this song. It sounds so quirky and fresh at the same time - the more you listen to it, the more you enjoy it.

I was quite surprised that this song kind of flopped on the charts, but on the other hand, this song actually sounds like something that would typically do well in TSC, and I wasn't wrong on that. Lorde's involvement for once does not sound as if she was forced to sing - it sounds smooth, and the usual great quality of production from the guys of Disclosure makes "Magnets" their best release so..

#15 - Leslie Knope - Parks and Recreation

This is quite possibly the funniest scene in any TV series I've ever watched. I remember cackling like an idiot when this scene first happened, and I know #ianfitz0012 loves this as well because he kept playing fucking Gloria Estefan all week as a result. In any case, Leslie/Amy brings the entire show together as the lead role, an overly optimistic city council member with higher aspirations. Another show that had a great ending as well.

Note: This is based on my personal opinion. Please do not take any offense from what I think of. Strictly my own thoughts.
I've started my journey in TSC in 2011, with TSC 60 being the first contest I appeared in (as a jury member).
I am so dedicated to TSC that I've decided to torture myself into reminding back to the songs from Tengaged Song Contest, that NEVER EVER should have been submitted. I subjected myself to listening to 43 terrible songs that came to my mind, and whilst only 15 will make the cut for the title of the worst TSC song (in Rick's opinion), there will also be honorable mentions on that matter (which will include another 10 disasters).

Skylar Grey - C'Mon Let Me Ride (featuring Eminem)

"If you've got a sweet tooth, you can taste my watermelons" - Do I really need to describe the first line?
I get the fact that this song is supposed to be ironic, heck even Skylar claims that in the song when she says "I'm only fucking with you, fuck you for thinking it's true", making fun of overly sexy pop music that unfortunately is going on nowadays.
But what does the make that song so bad that it's on this list? Let's summarise the whole thing:
- The cringeworthy verses. It's obvious that Skylar is a great singer, but this is totally not her style. She has COMPLETELY overdone it.
- "A terrible autotuned Eminem", singing the line from Queen's hit song
- A random, disturbing "BLEH" at 2:09
- Quoting a music critic, the whole thing sounds like a "desperate hook-up plea"
I think another factor that might have affected my rating is the fact that I know Skylar Grey as a different kind of singer, not really making such kind of music. Well, I suppose it was worth it, as it is her most successful single as a solo artist, which isn't really a great thing, as it didn't even reach the hot 100.
