Daycare Survivor Finale Results!

16 M_Davis1998, Jul 2, 2018

Cast:
V.G. (Blue Bandanas):
Oliver - 9
Liam - older 9
Luke - 9
For the final immunity challenge, i filled old soap containers half way with water. (They are probably about a gallon). The final 3 had to hold up the bottle straight out for as long as they could without going below the line i wrote on the chalk board they stood by. (Before they started, i had them each put their arm straight out and i measured about 8 inches down or so and wrote the line).
At first i let the kids hold their bottles against the chalk board, but after a while, i made them stop resting them and they also had to hold their arm straight and couldn't angle it.
After about a minute or so, Luke dropped.
Then, after about a total of 5 to 7 minutes or so, Oliver dropped.
Liam won final immunity! He then got to choose who he would take to the finals with him.
For this vote, i had Liam write out his vote privately, and even I didn't know who he was going to vote for.
When i revealed the vote, he actually wrote and L, but crossed it out, voting Oliver out of the game, making Oliver the final member of the jury. (My heart actually broke for Oliver because he was so into the game and he played so well. He started tearing up, but was trying to be strong but you could tell he was upset about Liam's decision).
Now, the final 2! Liam vs. Luke!
We had ten children from the game here today, plus the final 2. I allowed each of them to vote (We didn't do a jury, just everyone who showed up on finale day).
In Luke's final speeches, he explained how he thinks that Liam played a good game due to the fact that he was voted out and brought back in. He said he wanted to win to get revenge on Liam for turning on Oliver (I think this was a little weird since that would have meant Luke would have been voted out if Oliver hadn't been LOL but still).
In Liam's final speeches, he explained that he wanted to win because he wanted the candy bar prize and wanted to get revenge for Luke turning on his friends in the game.
In the end the vote went as followed...
Unnamed Boy - Luke
Unnamed Girl (This is the girl who was voted out of the all boys tribe) - Liam
Ally - Luke
William - Luke
Alexis - Luke
Zeke - Luke
Jackson - Luke
Connor - Liam
Peter - Liam
Oliver - Luke
The winner of Daycare survivor at a vote of 7 to 3 is... LUKE!
Liam was pretty upset about his defeat. He is a pretty emotional kid, and a perfectionist. He was upset for a while and actually took a nap after results LOL.
Now, in about a week we are going to be playing either Big Brother or another Survivor season. We are gonna let the kids decide.
I had so much fun with this game, and im so glad the kids handled it well :)
Thank you all for making this experience fun too! I'm glad you guys got in to it :)
Until Next..

Daycare Survivor Update!

10 M_Davis1998, Jun 29, 2018

I'm bored on break so might as well post the update now.
Cast:
V.G. (Blue Bandanas):
Oliver - 9
Connor - 11
Liam - older 9
Peter - 7
Luke - 9
Idols:
Ghost - Oliver
Volcano - Connor
V.G. - Luke
Final 5! Connor was not here today, so unfortunately he is unable to use an idol or play the challenge.
For the first challenge, we did a connect four tournament. I split them randomly into twos to play rounds of 2 out of 3. Then the winners would face in a 3 out of 5 match for immunity.
Luke and Oliver played first. Luke won.
Liam and Peter played next, Liam won
Luke and Liam then faced off and after tying it 2 to 2, Luke pulled out the win and was safe at tribal.
Knowing his ally Oliver had an idol, Luke gave his idol to Peter after winning immunity.
The vote ended of being 2 to 2 (Connor / Liam). (Oliver and Liam voted Connor, Luke and Peter voted Liam).
Oliver then surprisingly played his idol for Liam. Peter didn't use his idol.
Connor then left the game, idol in his pocket but not here to play it. (We did warn the kids if they aren't here they can be voted out with their idols).
Then, for final 4 immunity, the kids had to take the letters from out center's name to create as many words as possible. (Not gonna say the centers name, sorry). They had about 4 and a half minutes to do so.
At a score of 4 (Peter), 7 (Oliver), 14 (Liam) and 15 (Luke), Luke won immunity!
Luke and Peter voted out Oliver.
Liam and Oliver vote out Peter.
We did a revote where last minute, Luke decided to flip back, and voted out Peter.
(Peter was really upset and I felt bad because he really was a victim of drama that he wasn't a part of)
So now the final three are Liam, Oliver and Luke! Final immunity and the finale will take place Monday!

Daycare Survivor Update!

11 M_Davis1998, Jun 28, 2018

Cast:
V.G. (Blue Bandanas):
Jackson - 10
Oliver - 9
Connor - 11
Zeke - 8
Liam - older 9
Peter - 7
Luke - 9
Idols:
Ghost - Oliver
Volcano - Connor
V.G. - Jackson
So today we did the vote from yesterday. Very easily, the target became clear after a 6 to 1 vote for Zeke to leave. Zeke voted out Jackson.
We had a field trip to a park so we did the immunity challenge there today. At the beginning, the kids had to pick a partner. They then did a relay where they had to run around the volley ball court, then the shelter, then up the stairs and down the swirly slide of the playground. They had to let their partner and themselves go before moving to the next spot. The team that won would then move on to the final round against each other.
Teams:
Luke / Oliver
Connor / Peter
Jackson / Liam
Unfortunately, Another kid ran into Jackson during the beginning, taking him out of the challenge. Then, Luke and Oliver took a big lead, making it to the finals.
For the finals, Luke and Oliver each had to run the course before two times. After the first time, Oliver fell and got hurt. At first we said Luke would win, but my co teacher said we should have them both start back where they were after Oliver was able to calm down.
After the second round, Oliver won immunity.
When we got back to the center, we did the vote.
After a 5 to 1 Vote, and no Idol play, Jackson became the next person voted out of the game. Jackson voted for Liam.
I then rehid Jackson idol. Oliver found the idol and gave it to Luke.
After listening to strategy, it seems as though Luke and Oliver plan to target Liam next, and then Peter. Luke says he will then choose between Oliver and Connor as they will vote each other out. (I don't think he took final immunity into account.)
Jackson told me after he got voted out that he was mad because luke and Oliver lied and said they were voting out Liam.
So basically tomorrow if Peter or Liam win immunity, the other will go home unless the idol holders don't play their idol for some reason.

Daycare Survivor Update!

18 M_Davis1998, Jun 27, 2018

Cast: (Fake names, but ill put their ages)
The kids have decided to call the merged tribe "V.G." after their original tribe names, Volcanoes and Ghosts. They now have Blue Bandanas.
V.G. (Blue Bandanas):
Jackson - 10
Oliver - 9
Connor - 11
Zeke - 8
Liam - older 9
Alexis - 9
Peter - 7
Luke - 9
For the first challenge today, I did a memory challenge where I gave each child 6 pictures of different things. I then said a sequence and had the children repeat the sequence one picture at a time. They all passed the first sequence. Then in the second, Peter and Connor went first, but only Liam and Luke lasted to the next sequence.
The third sequence was a sequence of 9 with repeating pictures. After the third picture, Liam won immunity.
I hid the merge idol today, Jackson found it between the challenge and the vote. I did not tell the kids I hid it, but he found it. We hatched chickens in the classroom, and I put It behind their pin.
By a vote of... 1 (Zeke), 1 (Oliver) 2 (Jackson) 4 (Alexis), Alexis was eliminated from the game, leaving now ZERO girls left in the game.
After Alexis's elimination, we did a word search immunity challenge with 15 words. Luke won immunity while the next child only had like 8 words found.
We are saving the vote until tomorrow so they will have a while before the vote to talk to each other.
Idols: Connor (Volcano), Oliver (Ghost), Jackson (V.G.)

Daycare Survivor Update!

5 M_Davis1998, Jun 25, 2018

This is a short one because we didn't really do anything today.
But, Oliver and Luke came back today after being voted out. William and Callie still haven't been here since the game started. So as a twist in the game, we brought Luke and Oliver back into the game, and took William and Callie out of the game.
When we got back from our long field trip today, Oliver found the hidden immunity idol.
The kids were strategizing all day long, which i found hilarious. It seems like either Alexis or Liam are the major targets at the next vote.

Daycare Survivor Update!

17 M_Davis1998, Jun 21, 2018

Cast: (Fake names, but ill put their ages)
Volcanoes (Red Bandanas):
Jackson - 10 (Not here today)
William - 11 (Not here yet for the game)
Oliver - 9 (Not here yet for the game)
Connor - 11
Zeke - 8
Nick - 7
Ghost (White Bandanas):
Liam - 9 (but going into fifth grade, the other 9 year olds are going into 4th)
Ally - 9
Alexis - 9 (not here today)
Peter - 7
Callie - 9 (not here yet for the game)
Luke - 9 (not here today)
Amanda - 9
First off, i get to work and Liam tells me he found the Volcanoes idol already. He gave it to Connor. (Connor's mom told me she plays ORGS! LOL. OMG IF YOU ARE OUT THERE, HI!) (She said facebook though, but its pretty funny)
So, today, we went on a long field trip to somewhere about 45 minutes away from the center. We needed something to do, so we decided to do an Immunity Challenge. The challenge started on the way there, and ended on the way back.
For the challenge, we played a 21 questions type game. The person to guess the correct person/place/thing first got a point. We allowed the children no longer in the game to also play, by allowing them to award a point to a team if they got it right. We played to 3 points.
Round One: Answer was one of the teachers back at the center. One of the children out of the game got it right, gave a point to Ghost, as she was just voted out yesterday by Volcanoes.
Round Two: Answer was Spaghetti. Liam got the point for Ghost after a LONG time of guessing, at least like 15 to 20 minutes.
Round Three: The answer was "Moana", the same child who got #1 right got the point again, and gave it to Ghost.
Ghost won immunity!
We then did tribal on the bus.
Connor / Zeke voted out Nick.
Nick voted out Zeke.
Connor didn't play his idol.
Nick went home.
(I swear i tell these children they can vote out someone who isn't here, but they have yet to do so LOL)

I swear this is real. I wish i was able to prove it, but i would get in trouble for posting pictures of the kids, and im not even allowed to have my phone at work anyways. But im laughing that you guys think my imagination is good enough to make this all up.
Edit- Ally is the girl that has the idol for the White team.

Daycare Survivor Update!

21 M_Davis1998, Jun 20, 2018

Today we did a tribe swap! With 14 children remaining in the game, i decided it was a great time for a tribe swap. I dont remember off the top of my head how mixed the tribes actually are, but i think there are about even numbers from the original tribes on each of the new tribes. One tribe however got all but one of the girls (White), leaving a sole girl on the other tribe (Red).
For the immunity challenge, I read the children a pattern of colors, then asked them a question about the pattern. The game ended in a tie, where i did a tie breaker question. The question was "how many total school age children are enrolled in the classroom according to our binders." I said that if there was a tie, with different answers, meaning one above and one below, the number below would win. The answer was 31, White said 27, Red said 35. This means the White tribe won immunity.
The red tribe then all immediately said they were voting out one of the boys. I looked at him and said "Well, if they are voting you out, you should try to find an idol!" (I said this in front of the whole class, so it was fair :P ).
Next thing you know, the kids are idol hunting. Before too long, a kid from the white team finds the red idol. Sitting right next to him was the boy that was probably being voted out, so the kid handed it to him. This was after the boy who found it said he was voting that kid out before the swap.
So, the vote now flips to the only girl on the tribe. She talks to them and tries to get them to vote someone else, and one of the kids even lies and says he is voting a different person. In the end, she voted for a kid that wasn't here today, and the other three all voted for the sole girl on their tribe.
Unfortunately, the kid with the idol decided to play his idol, even though it was very obvious he wasn't getting votes now. So now the idol is rehidden.
White Tribe: Their idol was also found by a girl who has a lot of good relationships with the boys and the girls in the game, so she is sitting pretty right now.
Tomorrow there will most likely NOT be an update as we are going on an all day field trip so we probably wont be doing a challenge.

Edit: Ill start using fake names during the next one :)

Update on the survivor game at the daycare.

31 M_Davis1998, Jun 19, 2018

The kids officially have their tribe colors. The team that lost yesterday are the red tribe, they named themselves the Volcanoes. The team that won yesterday is the white tribe, they named themselves the Ghosts.
The Ghosts lost the first immunity challenge today. I had them do a relay race of running up the playset at the park, down the slide, and back to their team. The ghosts proceeded to vote out the new kid at the daycare, who also was mean to one of the other kids saying "why didnt you run faster?!"
Then, we basically played the quiet game for the 2nd challenge. The Ghosts team lost again, proceeding to vote out the child who cause them to lose the most points in the quiet game.
I have now hidden the hidden immunity idols in the classroom. I put the Red teams idol in a puzzle box that the children typically dont play with. The white teams idol is behind the parent mailboxes, which is on the shelf that the cups are for the kids to get water, but it is still hidden well. Hoping the idols wont be found for a while, but you never know.
It was hilarious watching the kids strategize for the votes today. One kid told me he has an alliance (yes he used that word) with a girl that gets mad easily and a 7 year old boy. He is definitely a favorite to win. Another favorite to win is a 9 year old girl that devised the plan to take out the new kid. She is very sociable, smart, and good at challenges, but not too good.
Ill have to keep giving updates as the game goes along :) #Daycaresurvivor

Very excited!

6 M_Davis1998, Jun 18, 2018

I am having the kids at work play survivor (They are so excited, as are the other teachers in the room).
I made two hidden immunity idols, an individual immunity necklace, and got bandanas for their buffs!
Now i need ideas for tribe and individual challenges! Some that can be done inside the building (we have literally like a 30 x 15 foot room, MAYBE) that has tables and shelves all over and we have a playground outside with a playset and decent running space. We are also walking to the park tomorrow that has a playground and lots of field space. Any ideas from you guys?
(These are 7 - 11 year old kids. We have like 16 kids playing still, though only like 12 come each day.)

Having the kids at work

Play a long term survivor game.
They voted out the girl with special needs first. (Granted her special needs are that she had a brain tumor so her arms shake and she isn't the best socially) but still! Bring her to the finals people like gosh!
