Once a quiet small town in Ohio, Springwood has recently become a town better known for death and mourning. Five years ago in 1981 four people were killed in a string of violent murders. The killer was never caught, the unfortunate survivor Nancy Thompson claimed that the killer came to them in their dreams. Everyone of course dismissed this as her going crazy due to the trauma.
Nancy's father, the former sheriff of Springwood, sent Nancy away to a psychiatric hospital soon after the final death in these horrendous crimes. The final victim being Nancy's own mother. The former officer turned to alchohol and now lives alone on the edge of town.
Lately the teens of Springwood have been suffering from horrible nightmares. Each night it's the same. They awaken to find themselves in a dark and cold version if their own homes. At first glance things appear normal...but they quickly change the deeper into sleep they get. The most recent dream has left them with a sense of lasting dread that has infected even their waking lives.
Unfortunately...they do not yet realize the true danger that they are in...
