Welcome back ladies, it’s me again, your favourite host! Joco is currently on a road trip but don’t threat he will be back for the runway! Now let’s on to today’s challenge shall we?!
✨ For today’s mini challenge we want you to show us your most rhinestoned shoe!
✨ Now, for your maxi challenge...this season we are all for fighting for the win and ultimately the crown and so this week we are challenging you to write and record (optional) a verse to Christina Aguilera’s - Fighter!
- If you wish to record your voice over the track and don’t have an instrumental version then I will be posting the instrumental version in the chat for you to use if you wish!
We want you queens to specifically re-write the opening VERSE of the song (the intro and chorus stay the same please!) and we want you queens to make your verse about any personal fights and challenges you have been through whether that be with identity or journey or illness or with other people, or with yourself - we want you to express that (but only go as far as you feel comfortable with of course!)
The lyrics that you need to rewrite for the verse can be seen below:
(Intro - keep the same!)
After all you put me through
You'd think I'd despise you
But in the end, I wanna thank you
'Cause you made me that much stronger
<replaceable verse>
Well, I thought I knew you
Thinkin' that you were true
Guess I, I couldn't trust, called your bluff
Time is up 'cause I've had enough
You were there by my side
Always down for the ride
But your joy ride just came down in flames
'Cause your greed sold me out in shame
After all of the stealing and cheating
You probably think that I hold resentment for you
But uh-uh, oh no, you're wrong
'Cause if it wasn't for all that you tried to do
I wouldn't know just how capable I am to pull through
So I wanna say thank you
(Chorus - keep the same!)
'Cause it makes me that much stronger
Makes me work a little bit harder
Makes me that much wiser
So thanks for making me a fighter
Made me learn a little bit faster
Made my skin a little bit thicker
Makes me that much smarter
So thanks for making me a fighter
✨ And on the runway category is: Fight or Flight - your best winged fantasy look! Make our weaves fly away girls!
✨ However, if you do happen to wind up in the bottom then you’ll have to FIGHT to this SONG you stay in the race!
Good luck queens! Let’s start with a 60 hours deadline!
MINI CHALLENGE
So you want to bow down and kiss these rhinestones and studs? But don’t come too close. They bite back!
MAIN CHALLENGE
Probably not ready to speak about it yet but for this challenge I wanted to make a piece about breaking boundaries of toxic and abusive relationships. No one has the right to treat a person like a piece of shit. Ever. But most importantly if you’re supposed to be in love. Stop the silence. They don’t deserve it.
On a technical level, wanted to keep the overall feel of the song but change some pauses and such to make it more personal.
Lyrics :
I thought that it was love
Didn’t expect the low blows
But you always wanted more, it was never enough
You rang the bell and then left me on KO
I let down my guard
I’ve been your punching bag
You just wanted to see me hunch,
let me pick up and then hit me again : sucker punch
But now that we’re on the ring
No more hiding
But you can’t yet really see me
But you will...
Trust and believe
Cause now I had enough and am walking out of your life
Won’t even say bye
You’re down at my feet
...but this time you’ll taste defeat
RUNWAY
Everything I had set on fire. I tried running back in to save my most precious ownings but got caught in the fire myself so now I am a burnt angel going to the afterlife. I just wish my beloved dog is safe now.
MAXI-CHALLENGE:
Voice-over: This song is about the toughest challenge I've probably ever faced in my life. What I'm singing about really brought out my emotions, like seriously, years of therapy couldn't even help me. Writing this song though... it really helped me overcome my challenges.
SONG:
Turkey, thought you were through
When you, tried to debut
As a queen on drag race with a name
That was banned, no one else to blame
I was, helping you ace
Killed it, in that drag race
Then our haus got broke up cause of you
Got disowned, flung out like a shoe
Lover, you fucked those turkeys, got herpes, but no matter what I was always still there for you
But uh-uh, oh no, no more
Sent home Fatty for you it wasn't enough
I think it's time to say goodbye, your bright star's gone snuff
I'm just gonna say FUCK YOU
RUNWAY:
Baby I know you wish I was what you saw when you died. Unfortunately I'm one of those boujee angels who only comes for the celebs and sugar daddies sorry xoxo https://prnt.sc/10dwmxp
Lyrics
------
To you, it was a game
For me, it was my pain
When I took that knife
cut and slice, mark myself with the strife
red in sight
you were
all i could was plea
and the
shoes and the belts
and the pain that i felt
and you thought I would welt
if you knew how I dealt
and i (this was during the mhmm)
left you, packed the pain, wasn't the same, felt the blame
but in the end, I learned and overcame you
uh no hold nuh uh no hold
Now im strong, woken up
Toughened up, smartened up, and realized
I love myself
And that is enough
You will never know
---------------
I wrote from a place of pain for this piece. My runaway model encapsulates the idea of trying to fight and get past the struggles that life can bring. It tells a story of trying to get through abuse, hiding the bruises with tattoos (though you can see in the second image the bruise on her face). You can see that she is trying to project her strength but you also can see that she has inner demons and a dark place is her true fight.
After all you put me through
You'd think I'd despise you
But in the end, I wanna thank you
'Cause you made me that much stronger
Hey its, me Maddox, and I’m, that iconic queen (bitch)
And I'm gonna stomp on these girls and make them feel insecure.
Underestimating me, and I made you scream, in fear
Because I’m here and I’m queer and came outta nowhere.
After being in the bottom 2, I rose out on top, and you were so unprepared
I did that, yes, yes I fought back.
To earn that title and yes I’ll knock a bitch out.
Left and right hooks, splits, and hella tricks.
You’ll know she will come through.
'Cause it makes me that much stronger
Makes me work a little bit harder
Makes me that much wiser
So thanks for making me a fighter
Made me learn a little bit faster
Made my skin a little bit thicker
Makes me that much smarter
So thanks for making me a fighter
