Four Greek scholars travel in a chariot from Athens to the seaside.
One is a scholar of philosophy, one is a scholar or history, one is a scholar of science and the other a scholar of armpits.
Each one of the scholar harbors a deep dark secret.
The four men reach a river crossing that is blocked my a magical cyclops.
It demands that each of the scholars reveal a secret and pass, or be crushed by its giant hammer.
The philosopher reveals that he is a practicing witch.
The historian reveals that he is attracted to men.
The scientist reveals that he is in fact in a loving relationship with the historian.
The armpit scholar reveals that he was born with no armpits.
The cyclops lets them pass, however the armpit scholar is unsettled by the other men's secrets.
He halts the carriage...

TRAGEDY ending:
The scholar of armpits knocks out the three other scholars with sleeping powder.
He ties them to stakes and burns the three to cleanse them of their perversions.
However, the chariot catches on fire as well, leaving him with no transportation and no armpits.
He walks and walks for days with no food and water to the seaside and drinks as much sea water as he can manage and dies.

COMEDY ending:
The armpit scholar knocks out the three other men and ties them to stakes.
He attempts to set them on fire, but due to him having no armpits, he can not maneuver his arms in a way that would start fire.
The witch philosopher and the gay scientist and historian escape.
They tie up the armpit scholar and the witch officiates an impromptu pagan wedding to join the scientist and the historian in not very holy matrimony.
But matrimony nonetheless.
