In light of Britneys Court Case, we are naming this week #FreeBritney week. This does not mean we only songs by Britney Spears will be posted... rather we want a song that makes a statement, the same way the #FreeBritney movement made a statement.

This could be political, it could be about social issues, it could be about anything... as long as there is a statement behind the song and it has genuine meaning behind it. If you need any clarification, please reach out and ask.

I immediately thought of this song once I saw the theme. This song addresses multiple issues such as racism, war, intolerance, and more. They talk about how the world has become full of nothing but hate, and how it affecting our lives. I think this is a very strong message. It honestly makes me want to cry whenever I listen to it.

This is such an underrated Rihanna song, to start off. Not only that, but she really showcases and translates the message super well in this song. It’s not something that Rihanna normally do, but in this she really chose to showcase the “new” America and the aspect of living the American dream! This was also the theme song for March Madness in 2015!
