People have said that Vampires were villans in some of the fairytales so I decided to go down the villan route of this fairytale challenge.

A dream is a wish your heart makes. I believe that a fairytale doesn't always have to have princesses and princes. Those are unreachable standards set by media. I believe a fairytale could just be someone becoming happy or just dreaming for happiness. You don't have to be a princess to have a happily ever after.

With the theme of a fairytale in mind, I decided to have my shoot come across as a sort of dream or perfect reality that fairytales often present us with.

I wanted to create the whimsical idea of a fairy-tale with a fashion edge. I think the overexposed shot creates a sense of brightness which juxtaposes against Alice's red hair and bright lip, it creates a dichotomy as we clearly see a woman in a childlike photograph however it questions the reality of the image.

In every fairy tail, there is a hero & a villian. There is light & dark forces. This photoshoot captures the magical & whimsical aspects of fairy tails with the light background and the flowers. It also captures the inevitable evil in every fairytale with the dark villainous outfit. Usually in fairytales, the dark force seems to have a hold on the heroes in the story (flowers in hand), until the light forces bloom and overtake the evil and all the characters live happily ever after. The setting for this shoot is also in the woods, where most fairy tales take place! This is an abstract shot of explaining the fairytale story formula as a whole, the eternal struggle of good vs evil, not just portraying a famous Fairy Tale character.

Every fairytale has a good guy and has a bad guy, dark and light. This image showcases  the darkness at the end of this fairytale without sunshine, roses, and happy faces. I decided to put all of this in this image to show the darkness that so many do not include in a fairytale.

"Magical" doesn't always have to be fairytales and happy endings. To me, "magical" can just be the perfect setting and happiness.
Here, I am representing a "magical moment" while experiencing feelings of happiness, freedom and being in your own element without anything holding you back. This is what I would call a "magical night" because it's similar to being at a party and feeling free and being able to have a good time.

For some reason, when I was told of fairy tales, I remembered the Ghibli studio films.
They are well-designed films that always convey a different idea to viewers.

For my photo, I am representing a happy ending of a story, after all the events, when the character realizes that he is happy and that is where he likes and with whom he likes.

Snow or other natural phenomena are great ways to finalize a captivating and emotional story in a beautiful and pure way.

I hope the judges like it!

Paul - So Paul I do like this shot even though this is a more darker approach on a magical portrayal I do see it fitting inside my own guidelines. The photo sells and that’s what makes it good.

Naomi - Seeing this and the comment I actually laughed. I mean touche I didn’t say no evil queens. I do feel you captured the presence of what I wanted. The photo doesn’t how intimidate me. It could be more.

Iveta - I love the outfit, the black and white, the description. The one thing I can’t get my head around is whats exactly happening in the photo itself. But for some reason I do feel as if I get swept away into something intriguing and wanting me to find more about it.

Barbie - This was definitely a choice but not a bad one because there is many ways to bring a fairytale to life. I take from this that you are something someone wants but can’t have. Something so magical it probably isn’t real. I would’ve loved maybe something more “clothy” but this isn’t bad.

Alice - This photo is too small unfortunately for me to really see everything that is going on because it does look like a beaut but then again I can’t really tell, now can I?

Madison - I am actually blown away by how sexy, fierce, and just passionate this photo really comes across. The description sold your photo to me from a mile away. This was definitely a very good interpretation of what I wanted to see today.

Garrett - Every fairytale do have to have a villain and this whole shot freaks me out! I think you really did hit the nail on the department that you made me feel something from this photo. It lays inside the lines of a good fairytale story and it stays to who you are. I dig it.

Adriana - I agree that magical doesn’t have to be fairytales and happy ending but I did ask for it. Yet no I do think this photo gives a whole other side to what a fairytale is. Doesn’t have to deal with witches, and spell, and powers. It could be about something as powerful as finding the joy within yourself. I do feel like this is such a joyfulness picture and I think probably one of my favorites from you

Dang - This really just brings a smile to my face because yours is so affectious. I think the simpleness of this shot works on me because it’s snow! It’s just simple but then again magical is simple in many ways.
