LIAR’S DUELS

Objective: Outplay your opponents in a series of 1v1 duels!

GAME SETUP
1.        These rules will be used for the Winner’s Round and the Revival Round.
2.        Each player will face two different opponents in a series of three games: 24-shot Russian Roulette, 17 Card Poker, and Stationary Roulette. Once groups are finalized, the pairings for each of the three games will be revealed.
3.        Each player receives 300 chips, worth 0.5m yen each, for a total of 150m yen!
     a.        For those in the Revival Round, the LGT will only ask for 100m yen back at the end of the game, so enjoy your 50m yen bonus!
     b.        For those in the Winner’s Round, please see ‘Endgame & Payouts’ section for payout information.
4.        Each player receives a time out bank of 2 24-hour periods. These are to be used across all three games. (Note: This means that you only get 2 time out periods for the entire revival round)

GAMEPLAY
1.        Chips and money will only move according to game rules. No transfers are allowed.
2.        Before each game, each player’s chip stack will be split in half, to be used in both games.
     a.        Example: I am playing against player A and B in the first game. My 300 chips are split as 150 chips for the game against A, and 150 chips for the game against B. I cannot then take chips in the game against A, and transfer them to the game against B.
3.        At the end of each game, your two chip stacks combine together, and are then split in half again for the next games.
4.        Game phases are 24 hours each, but can be moved to to be played live. Please ensure you are able to be online once per day to send actions. If necessary, the LGT will take advance decisions.
5.        If both players in a game consent, their instance of a game can be moved to a live format, provided the dealer is able. If a game is moved to live and one player goes offline for 20 minutes, the game will revert to the non-live state continuing with the round the players are on.
     a.        In order to speed up the games, the LGT asks that you communicate with your opponents to find times that work for you both to play.
6.        17 Card Poker will only begin once all games on 24-shot Russian Roulette are finished. Similarly, Stationary Roulette will only begin once all games of 17 Card Poker are finished.
7.        Players may mail the dealer they wish to use a period from their Time Bank. For the current turn, that player has a 24-hour extension.
     a.        If a player is inactive, they automatically use a period from their time bank if they have one.
8.        Sending in future actions will not use your Time Bank.

BANKRUPTCY AND LOANING CHIPS

1.        If you run out of chips during any game at the end of a turn, you forfeit the current and remaining games. However, you may still be eligible to be an overall winner of the round. See section ‘Endgame & Payouts’ for more information.
2.        If you run out of chips as the game concludes, but would have met the victory condition, you are still considered to have lost the game.
3.        If both players run out of chips at the same time, both players are considered to have lost.
4.        If a player is forced to use more chips than they have, they will only use the chips they have. They are considered ‘All-In’ and automatically meet any chip requirements for that turn.
5.        If a player in the Revival Round ends a game with less than 200 chips on hand (100 per matchup), that player may opt to further loan money from the LGT, up to a maximum of 200 chips (100m yen). That money (or debt) will be returned to the LGT at the conclusion of the Revival Round. This option is not available for players in the Winners’ Round.
     a.        If a player loans chips at the end of the first game, that player will only be eligible to loan 200 – [Extra loan #1] chips after the end of the second game.
6.        Any player eligible to loan chips will be notified of their eligibility and given a deadline to decide if they wish to loan chips.

ENDGAME AND PAYOUTS

Revival Round
1.        For the Revival Round, the top 3 players who earn the most victory points are the overall winners! Tiebreaker is the final chip count. If we are still tied without determining an overall winner, all tied players are considered losers.
     a.        A victory in a game is worth 1 point. A draw is worth ½ point. A loss is worth 0 points.
2.        For the revival Round, the losers are eliminated, and all players convert their remaining chips into yen

Winners Round
1.        For the Winners Round, all players are ranked by ending chip count, not by victory points.
2.        The player finishing in 7th place pays 1st place the difference in the players’ chip counts, capped at 150m yen.
3.        The player finishing in 6rd place pays 2nd place the difference in the players’ chip counts, capped at 100m yen.
4.        The player finishing in 5th place pays 3rd place the difference in the players’ chip counts, capped at 50m yen.
5.        4th place will not pay anybody, nor receive any payout.
6.        Payouts for ties will be explained as necessary. Regardless of tiebreaker scenario, the maximum gain or loss is 150m yen.
