Musical Chairs
Objective: Be the last player still seated!

DEFINITIONS

Player- Someone who is in the game and is still eligible to win Musical Chairs
Gaya (Pronounced Guy-a)- Someone who is in the game, but is not eligible to win Musical Chairs
Participant- All involved in the game (Both Players and Gaya)

SETUP

1.        Players outside the game or those already eliminated from the tournament are eligible to participate as Gaya (Eliminated player). They will not start with a chair or medals but are allowed to send and receive them. Gaya will not be allowed to choose the group they participate with, which will be determined randomly (not necessarily balancing groups).

2.        Each player starts with 9 Medals of their own name. Those participating as Gaya start with no Medals.

3.        Each player starts with a random chair numbered 1-9. Those participating as Gaya start without a chair.

4.        Each round will have two phases lasting 24 hours each; The seating phase and the voting phase. See their respective sections for more information.

5.        At any time, Players and Gaya may transfer medals and chairs to other participants. All updates will happen at the end of the current phase. Money from bank accounts cannot be transferred during this game.
     a.        Each chair and medal can only be transferred once per phase.
     b.        Players and Gaya may only transfer items that they currently have.
     c.        Items are all transferred at the end of the current phase.

SEATING PHASE

1.        Each player must send a mail to nbkiller detailing which chair they would like to sit in. This may be any chair still in the game (although not necessarily in the player’s possession). Players may send in a prioritized list for this phase.

2.        Players cannot sit in the same chair in two consecutive seating phases

3.        If a player fails to sit in a chair or was blocked or attempts to block (see BLOCK section), they become gaya.
     a.        If a player has an eligible chair in their possession, they will randomly sit in one if no mail is sent or if the mail sent has no eligible chair.
     b.        Any chair transferred to a player during the current seating phase will be considered in the receiver’s possession, NOT the sender.

4.        Players and Gaya may attempt to block a player (see BLOCK section).

VOTING PHASE

1.        The dealer will announce all players becoming Gaya.

2.        The dealer will announce any blocks attempted including who was targeted, who took part, and if successful or not.

3.        Players just announced as Gaya are candidates and are eligible to become remover. If no player became Gaya in the previous Seating Phase, all current Gaya are candidates to become remover. If there is no Gaya in the game, the LGT will remove a random chair from the game.
     a.        During the first Voting phase, anyone starting as Gaya are also eligible to become the remover.

4.        All players and Gaya must vote for a Candidate through tengaged mail to nbkiller. Voting is anonymous. If you do not want any candidate to win, you may vote ‘No Winner’

5.        All candidates must submit through mail which Chair to remove from the game. Candidates cannot decline to remove a chair.

6.        Voting is mandatory. If you do not support any candidate, please vote ‘No Winner’

7.        The candidate with the most votes becomes the Remover and eliminates their selected Chair.
     a.        If the Remover failed to submit a Chair to remove, the dealer will try the next option:
              i.        If a chair is in their possession, the LGT will remove the chair most recently sat in
             ii.        If the only Chairs in possession are ones the Remover didn’t sit in, one chair in their possession is eliminated at random.
             iii.        If the remover possesses no chairs, the LGT will move to the candidate with the next most votes.
             iv.        If all candidates are exhausted this way, or the winning option is 'No Winner', the LGT will remove a chair at random.

8.        If the vote is a tie, the LGT will drop Gaya votes. If the vote is still tied, the last-sent vote will be discarded until there is a winner.

9.        Once the vote is over, the dealer will announce the total votes each Candidate received, then remove the chair. The game continues with the next Seating Phase.

10.      If the winning option is 'No Winner', the LGT will remove a chair at random.

BLOCK

1.        Players and Gaya may attempt to block a player during the seating phase. Send nbkiller a mail telling which player you would like to block.

2.        If at least 3 Players or Gaya block the same player, that player automatically becomes Gaya. There is no other effect on the targeted player.

3.        Each person can only make one successful Block in the game. If a block fails, those participants may attempt another block at a later time.

4.        All players attempting to Block will become Gaya, as they will not be able to find their seat in time while doing so.

ENDGAME AND PAYOUTS

1.        The ONE remaining player not Gaya after a seating phase is declared the Winner and moves on to Round 3. Everyone else heads to Revival Round 2. (Meaning, only ONE player remains, with the rest of the participants being Gaya)

2.        The medals of the winning player are worth 100m yen. Medals of all remaining players are worth 0 yen.

3.        After the game, all players must pay the LGT 100m yen. Participants starting as Gaya owe no debt.

4.        If there is no winner, all players (excluding starting Gaya) will instead pay 50m yen to the LGT and all players will go to Revival Round 2.

5.       At this point, participants starting as Gaya will be dismissed from the tournament.

INACTIVITY

1.        If a player fails to submit a mail to the dealer during the seating phase, they will sit in a chair in their possession at random. If none, the player becomes Gaya. Regardless, the player receives a strike.

2.        If a player or gaya fails to vote in a voting phase, no vote will be counted, and the player receives a strike. Please vote ‘No Winner’ if you do not want any candidate to win.
     a.        If a candidate does not submit a chair to remove, they receive a strike. Therefore, a candidate can receive 2 strikes at once.

3.        Any player who become Gaya due to inactivity will not be eligible to become remover. If all players currently becoming Gaya did so due to inactivity, the other Gaya will instead become the candidates.

4.        Four strikes immediately remove the Player/Gaya from the game. The LGT will confiscate any Medals or Chairs in their possession. Removed players cannot receive Medals or Chairs, and the dealer will announce any confiscated Medals and Chairs. The player is still eligible to participate in Revival Round 2.
