What I am comparing is this:

The shooters 1-5 compared to the duelers defense 1-5 and vice versa. They are trying to stop you from scoring points. So if they block in the same place you shoot, you score 0 points.

Also one important thing, if the person you are dueling submits nothing, you automatically score 5 points unless you are a captain in which case it would be 15 points.
