— — POINT THIEF — —
In this competition, you have a singular goal – have the most points at the end of the game.
In this game there are four characters types. Based on the number of players to choose each character, a limited amount of points will be distributed. The characters are:
- Mafia
- Cartel
- Police
- Beggar
To start, players will draw a number from 1 to 10 (or however many are playing) to determine turn order. The game will last 7 rounds, and each player will take turns as the first player. Each round there are 4 new points lined up to be added to your totals.
Starting with that initial draw’s player in placement 1, each player will pick one of the 4 characters by PRIVATELY Skyping me their choice. As soon as you have Skyped me, you must then state PUBLICLY back in the main chat what you have chosen - but you are allowed to *LIE* to mislead other players. Watch out if you choose to LIE though, because it could come back to bite you!
Once everyone has picked and revealed a character in order, everyone’s TRUE identities will be revealed in REVERSE order. After the reveal is finished, points are distributed as follows:
- The criminal organisation (Mafia or Cartel) that is chosen by the MOST players will split 4 points as evenly as possible. Any leftover points that cannot be split evenly will not be given to them.
- If the Mafia and Cartel have the SAME number of players (or nobody picks either), then the Police will split the points as evenly as possible instead.
- If the points cannot be split evenly (for example, if 5 people pick the Mafia), then NONE of the players will get ANY points and the 4 points will be split among the Beggars.
- If there are points remaining after the Beggars split evenly, then the remaining points are discarded.
- Similarly, if there are points left over after the Mafia, Cartel or Police split them, the remaining points are split evenly among the Beggars.
Now to the LIE consequence! Any players who LIE about their identity in a round and DO NOT get any points will instead LOSE HALF THEIR POINTS (rounded down) for their failure to win the round. Therefore, it’s a risk to LIE… but can you pull off a victory out of it? If you are on zero points or lower and fail with a lie, you will simply lose 1 point and go into minus numbers.
The player with the MOST points after round 10 (or however many rounds are needed due to player size) will win IMMUNITY!
In the event of a tie, the player who gained the most points as a Beggar will win Immunity. If still tied we will run tiebreaker rounds with a randomly decided orders until an outright winner emerges.
