Episode 1: "Is it because of the CANAL?!?"- Ty

Starting off at Soldier Field, we first encountered our twelve teams of racers hoping to finally start the journey to earn the TTRS win that had eluded them for so long. From former finalists, to brand new rookies, the one thing all 24 shared was the lack of a TTRS championship to call their own.

The first task saw teams attempting to pair together Chicago Bear player's jersey numbers to the TTRS winner of that number, and while some pairs were able to finish with flying colors, Jonah and Becca were hit with a one hour penalty after failing to successfully finish the task after three attempts.

The teams then raced to Chicago O’Hare International Airport to catch a flight to the country only described as "For The Benefit of the World". While most teams were able to deduce it was Panama they were flying to, others such as Joey & Mike and Josh & Ty practically guessed every country in the world before finally stumbling onto the correct location.

After each team had boarded their planes, the teams were stacked up as such:

Delta Airlines Flight DL 1870/DL 393- Departing at 12:16 PM with a connection via Atlanta:

Jack/Tiffany
Jonah/Becca
Josh/Ty
Tomas/Grace
Will/Brad

United Airlines Flight UA 7173- Departing at 2:25 PM:

Anthony/Alex
Allie/Patrick
Joey/Mike
Nolan/Max
Matty/Anthony
Romeo/JT

However, it was the connecting flight that proved fatal as United Airlines landed a full hour and 27 minutes earlier than Delta, giving those six teams a significant advantage.

Teams than raced to F&F Tower and the Plaza de la Independencia where they encountered the first detour of the season, Pew for the Win, or Drawing a Victory. While most teams elected to go for Pew for the Win and risk the luck element, other teams such as Dylan & James, Matty & Anthony, and Grace & Tomas chose to get artsy.

As the leg finally wound down, the teams started arriving to the first Pit Stop of the season, the National Theater of Panama, where one of these twelve teams will see their race around the world cut to an untimely stop.

It is now time to watch and see as the teams slowly start to begin checking in...
