The fourteenth season of Flop Nation is coming soon, based the NBC gameshow ‘Dog Eat Dog’. This quick-fire season is to be played over just 7 days, with competitors playing in heats lasting just one evening, in a bid to advance to the final.

Each day a new game of ‘Dog Eat Dog’ is played between six different competitors. They will compete across five short competitions using the format in that single evening, with the sole victor of the night’s competitions being named “Top Dog”.

Here’s how each individual one-night game will work. The six competitors are described a challenge that is about to be played, and the competitors then vote for which one person they want to face the announced challenge, and the player that receives the most votes must take it on.

Failure to complete the challenge sends the player to the “Dog Pound”, eliminating them from the game. Successfully completing it however, allows the player to send any one of the people who voted for them to play into the “Dog Pound”, eliminating them instead in their place.

Four challenges are played in this manner. If a tie vote occurs on the first one, a player is chosen at random to break it; on all subsequent challenges, the last player eliminated acts as the tiebreaker. The last two players then compete in a fifth, head-to-head challenge, in which the victor is declared “Top Dog”, advancing to the final game on the seventh day.

On the seventh day, the six Top Dogs from the heats will all play the game one more time for the chance to be named “Ultimate Top Dog” and winner of the season.

As a result of the format of the season, you may only find yourself competing for 1 night (or 2 nights if you make the final). The only time you’d perhaps play more than one heat is if we have less than the required 36 players to make 6 games of 6, in which we may allow those who fell short to have another crack at the game.

This is an ideal game for those who don’t want to play full length games as they only need to dedicate a couple of nights at max to this mini season.

The season premieres on Monday May 6th at 5pm EST, and continues through the week until Saturday 11th with the heats. The live final is on Sunday May 12th at 5pm, which you MUST be able to play if you make it! The application form will allow you to indicate your free dates.
