The ninth season of Flop Nation is coming soon, based on a season of MTV’s The Challenge known as ‘Cutthroat’. It will ultimately be team-orientated, but with individual voting and eliminations.

This will be a smaller version of ‘Cutthroat’ compared to what has been seen in the show and in other group-games. Those iterations featured up to an excess of 30 players, whilst this one will feature a smaller cast and only 1 elimination per round.

At the start of the game, the contestants compete in a task to determine which three people will become team captains. These three players will each be responsible for drafting the three permanent teams for the duration of the season.

The three teams will participate in numerous challenges throughout the season, which are followed by an elimination challenge, known as the “Gulag”.

The team that wins each challenge earn immunity from the Gulag, forcing the two losing teams to vote one of their own players in for potential elimination in a secret ballot. The most voted player from each team goes into the Gulag where they square off 1v1. The winner stays, and the loser is eliminated.

In the event a vote is tied, a run-off vote is conducted. If the run-off does not resolve the tie, the player going into the Gulag from the opposing team selects any member of the deadlocked team to send to the Gulag.

In the end, the remaining players from each team will all compete in a final challenge, where the victorious team are all declared the winners.

LOGISTICS & RULES
- Each day will alternate between a Team Challenge and a Gulag Elimination on a repeating cycle.
- Team Challenges will occur at either 5pm or 6pm EST by host’s availability and discretion.
- The challenge will the end with the start of Elimination Voting, where secret ballots must be submitted before 4pm EST the next day.
- Failure to vote in a ballot results in a self-vote and 1 inactivity strike. 3 inactivity strikes will result in your removal.
- Gulag Eliminations will occur at an agreed time of EITHER 5pm or 6pm EST between the two players who are voted in.
- If the two players cannot agree on either time, or if one states outright that they cannot attend, then the Gulag may be switched to a submission-based Non-Live or a contact Shawn-based Semi-Live with a deadline.
- It would help therefore that you are on around the 4pm vote reveal to confirm when you’d like the challenge to happen, but you may also tell me your availability in advance in case you get sent in.
- If a player fails to inform me that they cannot attend the live eliminations, and then does not show up, I may disqualify that player and eliminate them - especially if their opponent is active and present. You have been warned.
