An ancient city built by one of the oldest elven bloodlines in existence. It is said that this was the first city ever built. For thousands of years it was held by the elves. That changed at the end of the great war between humans and elves, when the human king took control and forced the elves into exile, creating the wasteland once known as the Sea of Sand.
But with its return to the elves, the city has begun to flourish with life from the touch of elven magic into the sands. And for that, those sands made way for growth of life once more, lush and green and vibrant, their homes nestled high atop the mountains overlooking the land from its edge, a safe and defensible position.
As homes are rebuilt and shops are starting to pop up in the new land, the elven people have found their freedom and express it loudly with the bright life in their city, pulling free rusted statues and removing the cracks from their ancient fountains, taking back their home by force from what the wastes had done to it.
Hexenringe has become a beautiful home for the elves, a place to be proud of, though it's not yet completely restored, including 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗚𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁 𝗣𝘆𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗱, a landmark of elven history at the heart of the city. Much work remains to be done.
A temple that touches the skies, a place in which there is always prosperous weather, especially after a good rain. It sits at the heart of the woodlands, and the waters streaming behind it leave any within it enjoying its smooth flowing sounds.
Life blooms all around it, and upon ascending its winding staircase inside, there are endless rooms full of archaic remnants of the lives of the elven ancestors.
The temple is used by the elves for important meetings of the council, among those who are not elven.
Sometimes the grounds behind the temple are used as well, where a small gazebo is placed alongside a fountain. Butterflies flutter about, likely of the lost elven ancestors returning to their home.
Built atop the rocks directly across the waters from 𝗦𝗲𝗮 𝗦𝗻𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗕𝗮𝘆 are many rooms full of healing springs, the waters magically filtered from beneath the rocks and imbued with the healing energy said to come from the tears the elven ancestors have shed over centuries to protect the future for the elves of the here and now.
Elves often come to relax after a stressful day, usually with their elven friends, as it is thought the healing springs are more active when they are not used alone. Though this doesn't stop the occasional elf from coming all by their lonesome, if they need of it so badly.
Spirits have been said to appear sometimes within the spring waters, as even they appreciate the peace after all this time.
Located next to 𝗔𝗰𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗵𝗮'𝘀 𝗨𝗻𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗸𝗲𝗻 𝗪𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀 is a stretch of beach, with naturally formed coral pathways leading from all of its locations, including a tavern at its center.
There are also docks, both for admiring the waters and to travel to and from 𝗦𝗲𝗮 𝗦𝗻𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗕𝗮𝘆, for ease of trade.
𝗖𝗼𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗚𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝗧𝗮𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗻 is a place where elves can drink and mingle and dance to the music sung by a strange woman with purple eyes. It is often busiest at night, when the beaches are lit up by a bio-luminescent glow.
Throughout the forest are many small huts, made to blend in with their environment to avoid danger. These huts, once used as homes for the elven people, have now been made into a market area for all sorts of items, all the way from potions to books.
Many return there to remember those they lost at the graves beneath the hill where their memorial once was, as butterflies holding the souls of their lost relatives flutter about in the night hours.
