After plenty of blood, sweat, tears and STREAMING we are here. Finale night. A big APPLAUSE to the 5 finalists!
5 themes are selected. In the event of a tie (if everyone wins 1 round each), I have a tiebreaker ready in backup.
***Everyone submits 5 songs***
“Iconic Music Videos”
Post a music video you consider iconic, and feel free to elaborate as to why it is.
“Cultural Resets”
Post a song you think has shaped or made a significant impact in the music industry. I’m looking for more than a hit, I’m looking for a CULTURAL RESET. A pop culture phenomenon.
“Best Live Performances”
I want you all to submit a live performance of an artist of your choice that will have me SHOOK. I want vocals and a hell of a show. Super Bowl will give everyone limited choices, so I’m changing it to a more open theme.
“Redemption”
This theme is individual. Have a look at your previous results and look at the week(s) where you didn’t perform as well as the others, or maybe you ended up in the bottom. Which theme would you change now, and for which song(s)? Everyone chooses their own past theme here. However, if we have discussed the theme afterwards and you post a song I have mentioned while speaking about the theme - that will lead to minus points. Think for yourself and surprise me!
“Grammy Awards”
Post a song that has received the “Song of the Year” award, OR is included on a Grammy-awarded ALBUM. Awarded, not nominated.
Iconic music videos - How is this music video NOT iconic? From her spine exposed in frames, from her bathtub scenes, from the WIG in the beginning of the video? The numerous iconic outfits, the iconic dance moves during the chorus, the ending with a sparking bra and dead lover? Seriously iconic...
Undeniably one of the most iconic music videos of all time, Shania Twain in head to toe leopard print in the desert with a matching hold-all. This music video changed my life when I first viewed as a young gay, the simplicity and level of fierce is unmatched. This iconic look alone went onto inspire Gaga’s leopard print look in the Telephone video and is synonymous with late 90s fashion.
Cultural Reset
Best Live Performance
(100% changed her career)
Redemption: Week 9 Pop Divas - Kylie Minogue’s early career
Cultural Reset
This song really did change music. No one else and done this until Nirvana. When I think of music that changed music I always think of Nirvana
Redemption
I posted a safe Madonna song. I am a huge Madonna fan (like a prayer was the first song I posted and I think you know that by now) this song had the most expensive video ever made (at the time. 5million bucks). I think this was a better Madonna choice than Vogue anyway.
Song of the year
No one had posted this. The video was really powerful. It touches on gun violence/mass shootings and racism/social issues. Every time I watch the video I find something new I had missed!
