Celeste’s Music Game - Week 9 RESULTS

Jan 26, 2021 by xCelestex
This was a tough week for you all, you had to make some CHOICES. The theme was pop divas from different decades, and 2 songs from 2 different places in their artist career.

Here’s the results:

Thirteen
Artist: Lady Gaga
Songs: “Alejandro” and “Babylon” - WEEK WINNER

A great week for you 13! Alejandro is a highlight of the early Gaga era, and Babylon truly shows us who the “new” Gaga is, it’s her Vogue. Congrats on winning this week, 13!

Zachbbs
Artist: Mariah Carey
Songs: “My All” and “We Belong Together”

I like these choices, you’re showing me two sides of Mariah: an early gem with strong vocals, and a later hit where she’s showing her more radio friendly and chart topping side.

-
Keefe
Artist: Rihanna
Songs: “Unfaithful” and “Love On The Brain”

A perfect combination of old and new RiRi. Unfaithful is so emotional, it brings me back to childhood years. LOTB shows us how much Rihanna has developed as an artist, doing her own thing. Nice work!

BB5lover

Artist: Katy Perry
Songs: “The One That Got Away” and “Never Really Over”

Fairly safe choices, but I like how they tell a story. The first song is one of my favorites on her second album Teenage Dream, and Never Really Over gave me high hopes for the new Katy era. Unfortunately though, I didn’t really like her new album that much (That’s irrelevant in this ranking though).

Jenii_Valenta

Artist: Kylie Minogue
Songs: “What Do I Have To Do?” and “Get Outta My Way”

Loves Kylie, I’m a bit torn with this selection. The first song is cute,  but I feel like it’s one of her more forgettable early songs? Your most recent choice lifts you up this week though! Love that one.

——BOTTOM 3——

BlahBlahBlahBlah

Artist: Madonna
Songs: “Vogue” and “Crave”

I loveee Vogue, it’s a classic. However it’s like...so safe. Madonna had many great non-singles during her “early” times in the 80’s and 90’s, I feel like you could’ve given me a bit more. Crave is adorable though, a refreshing addition to Madame X.

-

Chic

Artist: Britney Spears
Songs: “What It’s Like To Be Me” and “Mood Ring”

Honestly MBD...These are kinda random. The first song is a cute early song, but from that album I’d definitely choose Cinderella instead. What saves you here is Mood Ring: This should never have been a bonus track, it’s too good for that. One of her stronger non-singles in the last 10 years. Britney has an amazing discography, and many of you keep choosing the less memorable ones. Why is that?

ItsAustin
Artist: Whitney Houston
Songs: “I Wanna Dance With Somebody” and “Million Dollar Bill”

Whitney was a legend. The first choice is a CLASSIC. I just didn’t really enjoy the second one that much. I’d love to see “For The Lovers” instead where Whitney channels her inner JLO.

Sorry to see you go, Austin! It’s been a pleasure having you around 💗

The rest of you, stay tuned for next week coming up shortly!
