I ran/jogged/halfway died in my first 5k race today. 31 minutes, 39 seconds. I can't complain. but I also know much work and fine tuning is needed. I started strong and I played a good mental game.

omg congrats i know if i tried to run a 5k i drop dead
koolness234 thanks, mate. I appreciate it. and I highly doubt that. you can walk/run, go at your own pace, and just do the best you can. I think the last runner that finished today finished around 70 minutes. so it's all good.
Amanyaman thanks, mate. I appreciate it. over the last two weeks, I only trained three days and was finishing around 33 - 34 minutes. I was surprised myself. but I will keep up the good work.
Oliviaxoxo thanks, Princess of Wales. I really appreciate it. I really didn't know how I would finish today. my biggest goals going into this race was to finish the race and to not finish in last place. I'm also glad to hear. I'm so sore right now. but I'm looking forward to one day medaling in my age category. today, I was about 10 minutes short from 3rd place. so I'm using it as motivation.
yeh exactly, and it was a good chance to see your standard :) haha the soreness gets better i swear! honestly id have DOMS for about few days after when i began and i hated stairs :L but now i never really get it cos your body adapts. thats good :) your goal should be based on your own time that'll help motivate u @tenacious_Tim
Oliviaxoxo I'll be honest, I started to let up off of the gas today right around the first mile. and I had a hard time rebounding between the first and second mile. I was gassed. but with about a mile left, I was able to distance myself from those clutters of people coming in from behind. and I was able to push myself to keep the lead from behind to still finish strong. I have some work to do. no doubt. but I know I can definitely get it in under 30 minutes, it's just working to make it better.
