Recasting Winners at War [+ Tribe Divisions]

Dec 29, 2020 by survivornerd
As great as the WaW cast was, I think any cast of winners would be amazing, so I decided to pick out who I specifically would have liked to see. I'm not taking into account who would have said no, who would have realistically been asked or who would have come back, I'm just picking out 20 of the winners who in a dream world I'd want to see play together. I have respect for all winners, so don't be mad that your favorite didn't make it, I considered everybody. Literally any combination of 20 winners would make an awesome season.

Richard Hatch - The inventor of Survivor, this one speaks for itself. I would love to see him play one more time (though it will never happen). Also, would be nice for some LGBTQ+ representation.

Tina Wesson - The first female winner, and almost a two time winner in BvW.

Ethan Zohn - Universally beloved, his story is obviously very emotional and inspiring. Great guy, too.

Vecepia Towery - The first black winner, and played one of the all time best under the radar games in the show's history.

Jenna Morasca - I think it would be incredibly compelling to see ex-spouses compete together, she also deserves another shot after her having to leave in All Stars.

Sandra Diaz-Twine - All time great character, and the only two time winner, so of course an obvious lock here.

Amber Mariano - I loved the dynamic of having a husband and wife play together, but I really wish they stuck them on the same tribe instead of separating them.

Yul Kwon - I think everyone loves Yul, a great strategic mind and just one of those old schoolers that you wished would come back. (I'd like to see him play again after WaW, honestly.)

Parvati Shallow - I feel like you need to include everyone who has an argument for being the greatest of all time. And Parvati obviously does, she's another who is a clear lock.

JT Thomas - I love players like JT who will make big moves in attempts to increase their odds at winning, no matter how risky they are. Watching big moves pay off or blow up in his face are entertaining either way. Also, my favorite player when I was 9.

Rob Mariano - Again, another lock. All time great character and usually in the GOAT discussion.

Sophie Clarke - I am trying to look at it as "pre-WaW" as possible, but there's definitely a chance I'm being biased after watching her play. But seeing people who were so young play again years later is always interesting. (Shout out to honorable mention Fabio who I had a very hard time not putting on here.)

Kim Spradlin-Wolfe - One of the most dominant wins ever, in my opinion, the best win ever, and she's also in that GOAT discussion.

Tyson Apostol - An all time great character, he seems like a lock to me as well.

Tony Vlachos - He's Tony and Tony makes amazing TV for however long he's on the season, whether it's to the finale or if it's just the premiere.

Natalie Anderson - Another great player and fun person to watch, will always make crazy moves to help her odds.

Jeremy Collins - Genuinely probably a top 5 player ever, I don't know if that's a hot take but his intuition is crazy. Also fun to see him and Natalie play together again.

Adam Klein - Another one of my favorite characters, and I think the "superfan" archetype on a season full of legends is really interesting to watch.

Sarah Lacina - Fun to watch her and Tony play together again, and played such a badass game in GC.

Chris Underwood - Neg me now and doxx me, but I think having someone who hasn't played that much Survivor play against the greats would be interesting. Think David on this last season of Survivor. Would be cool to see him try and prove himself as a good winner.
